The staff at the hotel are lovely, the hotel manager is so nice and approachable, Amanda on reception was so accommodating and friendly, she really went above and beyond to help me. All the reception / team were lovely and so friendly. We are a sen fam and they staff were brilliant. The girls adored the staff. Hotel clean and tidy and very professional. It’s such a well run and comfortable hotel. The breakfast is lovely and the staff in the restaurant are also amazing. We have to give a huge shout out to kaz- a ray of pure sunshine ! She went above and beyond with the girls and they absolutely loved her. So friendly and have so much of her time to make us welcome and to engage with Hope and Lucy. They adore kaz and she made it so special- she’s an asset to the restaurant team. We will be back and we love all staff but have to give a huge shout out to Amanda on hotel reception and kaz in reasturant. We can’t wait to see you all again.we recommend staying here. Thank you hotel team - you are amazing. And thanks kaz for ā€œkazzing ā€œ our mornings ā¤ļø

The best Carvery ever.!!! Definitely recommended. Dog friendly!#Buddyfriendlypubs #Walkswithbuddy Definitely a rovers return. A very welcoming and friendly pub. Beautiful walks to be had near by too. Plenty of parking is available. Remember to put your number plate in, on the tablet at the bar if you use the carpark. These guys definitely know how to do a roast, there are other dishes available, that are also good value. There’s a soft play for the kids up stairs. Bedrooms at the quays in now available if you want to stay over. The hotel rooms are immaculate. Nice views on the Marina, it’s lovely sitting outside on the decking in the summer. Download the Season Ticket app and you will get a free drink. Plus you get 10% off selected drinks when certain sports matches are on. If you download the Greene King app they provide a table service via the app as well. Which is handy lol. If you are a roast connoisseur, try the carvery at the quays.!!!

We're staying in the area for My birthday, not a great experience. Ordered food with drinks. Gentleman brought out our food, no drinks. We told him, he came back and said we'd need to talk to the bar staff. This should have been sorted there and then. Queued at the bar for some time after the waitress had finished flirting with some local "ray" and got our drinks. We'd been waiting 30 minutes for our drinks by this point. By the time I got our drinks, our food had gone cold. The lady asked how our food was and I told her our food had gone cold. She said sorry and offered to warm it up, we'd nearly eaten it so it was pointless. This isn't good enough. The food itself wasn't as good as even Witherspoons. It was average at best. Another lady collected our plates and asked how I meal was. I said just about ok and that was it. We usually love Greene king pubs, especially the last few we went to in Swindon. This one has left a real bad taste.

Food tasted good once it arrived, but took nearly an hour even though dining area was nearly empty. Staff also tried to keep busy and we were interrupted by 4 different members of staff asking if our food was OK. Staff also struggled to find our booking on the system. Also struggled to get in and out of building as there were smokers blocking the doorway, as someone who gets bad headaches around cigarette smoke, having no choice but to go through that was horrible. We chose this location for a birthday meal as ideal for people coming from Northampton and Wellingborough, but not sure if we will return. Even missed out of dessert and second drinks due to slow service, but I guess that's The Quay's loss.

UPDATE - so a week or so after visiting, my friend got a parking ticket. I haven't yet (we arrived in two cars) but am fully expecting one. We turned up on an evening that was very dark and raining heavily, signs were not visible (and even one we found on Street View is at a very high level). Apparently parking is free to Quays guests but we were not advised by staff of any machine or list that we had to give our registration numbers to avoid the shock. My friend's ticket was rescinded by Euro Car Parks on the grounds of showing a valid meal receipt and booking but they did not take kindly to the comments about their poor signage. This has compounded our poor experience and will ensure that we will not return. The hospitality trade has suffered enough over the last few years due to the pandemic and cost of living crisis, having such a parking scheme only goes to further discourage visitors, not aware of any other pub in the area that does this so will go to...

We came here for a family birthday get together stayed 2 nights and ate 2 breakfasts and 1 meal.

HOTEL having booked an accessible room we were surprised how far down a long corridor the room was and then how small the bathroom was. Nothing accessible about this room. Reception told us we'd not booked an accessible room when we queried the room provided. We showed our email confirmation to be told that info hadn't come through their end and no accessible rooms were free for our 2 night stay. Apart from this the room was comfortable, clean and quiet.

BREAKFAST no allergen menu available and was told to use the app. I downloaded the app which didn't show allergens on my phone. The waitress used her app which didn't show breakfast allergens, so wanst any help. A member of staff told me I obviously couldn't eat pastries and that the bacon and mushrooms had a dairy/herb glaze. She supposed I could eat the bread and was surprised when I said not always! Eventually they advised the chef could cook me bacon and mushrooms and someone went to the local garage to buy dairy free milk.

LUNCH After selecting what I could eat from the waitresses phone app at breakfast this was a simpler order. Food was hot and decent quality and the staff did well considering there was over 30 of us eating.

STAFF were lovely, cheerful and helpful within the bounds of the set up / processes in place. Why didn't our accessible room booking show and why wasn't breakfast allergen info available.

It's a shame these issues will stop us...

Easily the worst carvery I have ever experienced. We were a family of three adults and a child. The waitress never bothered asking if I wanted large but that was probably doing me a favour, she was pleasant enough.

After standing as the only ones waiting for at least 5 minutes, a waitress finally went into the kitchen to advise someone.

The wait wasn’t too bad as the kitchen was providing its own entertainment with lots of yelling and arguing.

Turkey, Gammon or Beef, well the Beef and Gammon looked like it had been cooked 24hrs earlier and left in the sun so Turkey it was, two slices if having a standard

Roast potatoes were okay, Yorkshire pudding (allowed one) were edible but the rest was cold and dried out. Another guy approached the counter asking if there was any ā€œfresherā€ meat, no not until these have been used up was the reply.

We’d not be willing to go back, they obviously have a problem with the kitchen staff. There was what looked like a member of staff sitting by the front door with her head down writing or typing, they witnessed the long wait to be served, the arguing was loud so they must have heard that too but it was all ignored.

Price was good, two carvery meals and two drinks for £23 but despite this it still was a long way short of...
