Red Chilli — Restaurant in England

Diabolical service! I wish we could comment on the food but unfortunately we didn’t get chance as the service was near enough non existent.

After booking a table we arrived and were greeted to a table for 2 in the middle of the near enough empty restaurant excluding 3 tables. A few minutes later we were then asked to move as this table was now reserved.

10 minutes in we were asked while he was looking around elsewhere what drinks we would like, we ordered and still were not given any menus.

15 minutes in we were asked again what we ordered to drink by the same person as he forgot a sparkling water and a Coke, getting a little impatient with a smile we ordered again.

20 minutes in still no drinks and no menus plus witnessed another table who were looking at their menus for over 20 minutes while we were there if they could now order.

At 25 minutes still no one left the bar to come into the restaurant so we decided to leave and then all of a sudden to be told we’re busy and our drinks are ready. Well cancel them and good luck to you and your business if you can afford to let cash walk out your door because you won’t last much longer treating customers this way! We won’t be returning and suggest others save themselves...

We were staying in west rounton (6 miles away) we rang the restaurant to make sure they delivered and then placed our order on just eat. They have a massive range of dishes and all at reasonable prices. About 40 minutes after ordering, we noticed a missed call & voicemail...the restaurant were requesting a further £5 for delivery (on top of the £2 we had paid on just eat) when I rang them up they said they wanted a further £8....by this time we were hungry and didn't want to have to start cooking, as time was getting on, so reluctantly paid the extra. When the food arrived, it was nice and hot, the garlic rice was burnt...I can get away with overcooked food....but burnt garlic (big black pieces) is very bitter and had totally ruined the rice! Luckily my friend had some spare! The rest of the meal was absolutely delicious! My friend said her veggie korma was the best she has had! My Lamb karahi was also delicious! Lots of lamb and it was so tender, you could cut it with a spoon! I would definitely give these guys another try, if in the area! But I think the delivery was a bit steep! And a bit cheeky to charge a 2nd time, and the burnt rice was a real let down to an otherwise...

The service was good. Really friendly helpful staff. Gave us a drink on house when they couldn't supply us with what we ordered. Which was a nice touch. The food however was ordinary at best. Both meals bland and tasteless. No spice in them even though advertised as medium hot. The chicken pakora was not chicken pakora. So overall disappointed. Its not an expensive restaurant and the staff are nice. The food in my experience has always been the issue. Haven't been for 3 yrs because of this, and I won't be...
