We’ve been going to Governor’s since it opened and always been super happy. This was the first time we had tried the Evening Bottomless, so we booked as we were doing the movies afterwards, which is just across the square. When we arrived it was busy but not full, and they had a music duo playing, which was pretty cool and added to the atmos! Our server (one of our usual) showed us to our table and made sure we were well looked after, getting our drinks sorted straight away. The drinks menu was a nice selection of cocktails, beers, wines, and fizz, which we made good use of. The evening menu doesn’t include the breakfast options but still has a nice choice from the rest of the regular menu. We upgraded to a sharing platter of nachos as a starter for a very reasonable four quid, and well worth it as very tasty. Onto the mains, and the missus had chicken tacos whilst I went for the steak and eggs flatbread. It was up to the usual high standard, delicious, and perfectly cooked and presented. At forty five pounds each, it’s not a cheap night, but our server kept the drinks flowing, making sure we got our money's worth, and adding in the food quality, worth every penny. Thanks as ever to the fab team there for a really great evening out, and super nice food. We’ll be back of course, and definitely will go bottomless again! Thanks Governors!

Really good breakfast! Stopped in travelling north, great to find this place given the distinct lack places along this stretch of the A19. Northallerton, quintessentially rural northern market town, lovely. The Governor’s House, a wonderful old building, with a modern interior, food cooked in front of you. Tasty, well presented and quality ingredients, the traditional full breakfast with good meaty sausage thick bacon and all the trimmings, the Mediterranean breakfast fresh and full of flavour. and tea in a tea pot, proper! Service was prompt, efficient and friendly, price reflects the quality, very much worth it, and left satisfied and ready for the day ahead!

Our third time at Govenors House, Northallerton, and it never disappoints. It's tough to decide what to have because everything looks, sounds, and is so delicious! There are specials available on top of the main menu, and the service is friendly & welcoming. Highly recommend!! Photo attached is avocado on toast with mushroom instead of eggs, and extra bacon, plus the special chicken & bacon pancakes (insane!!!), and finally the cinnamon graham pancakes. All incredible, can't wait to return!

Lovely family friendly (& dog friendly!) venue. Conveniently situated & with parking just a short walk away. Service with a smile. Excellent menu choice - both for adults & children. And we had booked in for a day when young children could eat for £1.00. So amazingly good value. Crayons & paper on each table for young ones while awaiting our food. The only glitch being a longer than expected wait for that, but certainly not unpleasant as the vibe was really nice. Staff were apologetic & kept us informed. The two grand kids had a plate of pasta & a stack of pancakes respectively. Which they loved! Grownups had different dishes, each of which was excellent! Mine being possibly the most filling 'full English breakfast' I have had. Would highly...

Ordered Chilli Scrambled Eggs with “parmesan, bacon, spring onion, shallots” The bacon was fatty lardons, not proper bacon, sprinkled all over the top was powdered, packet parmesan. Bread was stale and couldn’t cut through. Chilli’s were from a jar and sweet, no heat at all. For £14.50 you’d expect proper bacon and fresh ingredients. When the waitress asked how was the meal, I looked at the plates which were pretty much both untouched and explained not great. To which I got a dismissive “sorry about that love”. The loaded tater tots were great however but £50 down I’d expect a better experience than that and waiting staff that would show more of an interest/not simply dismiss why the plates were taken away practically full then proceed to...
