Having read great reviews we decided to try the restaurant as we love a curry and struggle to find anywhere really good around Northallerton. We were sadly disappointed. We have some allergies in the group and I am vegetarian but the menu had no allergy or vegetarian information on it - now a legal requirement (Natashas Law). The waiter was trying to be helpful but had to keep dashing back to the kitchen to ask which made us feel uncomfortable. I chose one of the few items that appeared to be vegetarian as a starter to be told they didn't have it. The menu is not extensive so that was disappointing but perhaps we should have been told at the start of any items not available. The food was nice but not anything really special that the price tag indicates. Don't think we will be back...

If you want to try something other than the usual BIR dishes, this would be a good place to visit. The food is a little more high-end and authentic, so don't expect to find chicken tika masala or dopiaza on the menu. You will find a truer taste of India, and welcoming staff only too happy to give you some background on the dishes. The food has incredible taste without the need to override your taste buds with too many unnecessary spices. You can expect to pay more for your dishes and although the choice is adequate, it's not a huge menu. It is a popular restaurant so booking is advised to make sure of a table.
