Very disappointed in our meal. The setting is stunning with beautiful views but is let down by the food. We were seated in a lovely booth area, views were great, however the food was a huge let down. Wine list wasn’t given, and we were not told the specials until we asked for both. The menu had been changed that day but with incorrect information on it about what was available. The risotto was a very confused dish, with rice that was very crunchy, not just with texture but with crunch which left a sand like texture in your mouth after chewing. They replaced this with a second plate which was slightly more cooked. The risotto was served on a cold flat plate and so went cold very quickly, would be better in a bowl to help retain the heat. The seabass dish with bourguignon sauce was underwhelming and had a thick layer of jelly on the top of one side of the fish. Just disappointing for the price tag! When the bill came we had been charged £5 for water we didn’t order or have! All in all a fantastic location, but poor dining experience, with a pricey bill!

Definitely a special place to dine. The restaurant is inside the Headland hotel, and the huge windows overlook the beautiful sea around Fistral Beach. If you dine there in the evening the staff will pull back the curtains so you can see the sun go down as you eat and drink. The young staff are really friendly and helpful and helpful to make the event special. The menu is well thought out, and not overly extensive. Prices reflect those of a good hotel in a great location, so don't go if you're not prepared to spend quite a bit. Typically starters around £10-15, and mains £25-40. A good wine list. Cocktails are exceptional - the Espresso Martini is the best I've had. The food is good, but not exceptional. Nice combinations, but flavours sometimes lacking, and fish sadly overcooked. Never the less, a fulfilling dining experience for a special occasion.

Impeccable dining experience 🌟 Set with the stunning backdrop of Fistral Beach and in the heart of the Headland Hotel, RenMor provided the perfect dining experience to celebrate a special occasion. Service was impeccable throughout the meal. The menu also could not be faulted, with a wide range of Cornish Classics on offer. We ordered the sharing Steaks, a meal that will go down as one of the best I will ever eat! The sides accompanying the Steak were also out of the park! Thank you for making our anniversary so special! 🌟 Recommendations: Sharing steak, Thousand Fries, Barbecue cabbage ⛔️ Drawbacks: A high price point ( But absolutely worth it!) 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 / 5 Stars

The RenMor is one of the most expensive places to eat in Newquay but on our visit unfortunately failed to live up to its price tag.

The food was fine -- we shared a 36oz Rib of Beef, but the service was amongst the worst I can remember experiencing anywhere, nevermind at a restaurant striving to be a jewel in the crown of the 5 star Headland Hotel.

Things started off fine as we were shown to our table by our host and advised that our waiter would be by shortly. After an unacceptably long wait our waiter eventually turned up and left us with menus. We then waited over 20 minutes for our food and drink order to be taken, and then only after I had called our waiter -- he had clearly forgotten us and even after I called him over it still took several minutes for him to arrive. The restaurant was not particularly busy at this time (we were seated at 6:30pm) and so we found this inexplicable.

We were hungry and so ordered some bread (not a snip at £4 per round) which we were promised would be right over, a bottle of red, and a 36oz rib to share.

The bread never materialised. Although it was still on our bill. After complaining it was removed, but our waiter still wanted his 10% service to be charged on the pre-adjusted bill!

When our wine finally arrived it was sloshed unceremoniously into our glasses with no opportunity to taste it first. Granted it is rare for a wine to be corked, but tasting before pouring is surely a basic wine waiter skill, nevermind in an expensive restaurant in a 5 star hotel?

As you might be coming to expect we were left to recharge our own glasses throughout dinner.

Our waiter brought steak knives as might be expected. But bizarrely our waiter handled the cutting surface of the knives. I think is just unacceptable and not something I've ever observed in a restaurant before.

Mercifully our steak did arrive relatively quickly and was tasty if not special. Served thinly sliced. I've had far better. I've had worse.

I had ordered a side of fries which were served in a bowl. On delivery to the table one fry escaped the bowl and our waiter proceeded to pick it up and put it back in the bowl! I'm 100% certain that this wouldn't happen in a takeaway restaurant nevermind in a supposedly top end eatery.

We rounded dinner off with a warm brownie and ice cream (from the kids menu) which was served cold.

By this point we had lost the will and just wanted to leave.

First we had to deal with the bill which with service was £164 for the two of us with no starters. After complaining the cost of the bread was removed (but not the 10% service charged on it) and nothing more was offered to compensate.

All in all we will not be rushing back to the RenMor for dinner.

Service makes such a difference.. the same restaurant serves breakfast and the experience was...

Third visit last night and yet another disappointing meal - we won’t be back. Beautiful setting, stunning views and lovely atmosphere but very overpriced and poor quality.

When you go to a ‘top quality’ restaurant you expect something special and will obviously be disappointed to receive a very average, lukewarm meal served by an unenthusiastic waiter.

No bread on the table, no wine list given, no table check from the waiter to see how the meal was for our starter or our main. No top up of wine or offer of any more drinks throughout the meal.

£32 for quite literally an average chicken breast with a mushroom gravy is just not value for money - potatoes and vegetables are extra dishes to be ordered in addition to the chicken and are priced around £7 each. If it was exceptional then maybe but, unfortunately it was far from exceptional, it was nothing special and not even warm.

We have eaten in many quality restaurants in many places and we have no issue paying strong money for good quality food but in our experience, they just can’t seem to get it right here.

The restaurant really does let the hotel down and unless something drastically changes with Renmor’s quality and service, I genuinely think it will put people off staying at the hotel for future visits.

We really love the hotel, the spa and the bar but Renmor is a big no for us....

On arrival, a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately the quality and delivery for the price was very poor. Portion sizes were very small, pigeon was overcooked, the steak was cold and dry with no garnish served on a cold plate. Grilled mullet was tiny and came with no sauce or vegetables despite being described as such on the menu. We tried to clarify the sides when it was served but we were dismissed. On the plus side the deer (although small) delicious, as was the dirty mash.

The wait between starter and main was over 45mins and no one came to talk to us at any point.

At the start of the meal, bread for the table was offered, and then charged at £5 per person - so we were charged £30 on bread for the table with one piece of bread each.

We chose not to have dessert, and only had one bottle of wine - considering all of this, the £480 bill was not welcome. It was my mum's birthday dinner and meant to be a special treat so we didn't want to make a fuss (and had already waited so long to get our food) but in general this was an overpriced disappointment. Style over substance.

However breakfast the next day...
