My pal and I stopped in here on way back to Bristol from Hereford Cathedral. The staff were absolutely delightful; friendly, smiley, approachable and efficient, without being sickly twee haha! The day we visited (Bank Holiday Monday), they only had two chefs working so the kitchen was heavily under pressure. However, our food arrived in a mere 20 minutes! Beautifully cooked, good quality produce. My gammon was thick and juicy (no puns!) and eggs were free-range and very tasty with orange yolks. The pineapple was a proper fresh wedge which had been caramelised perfectly. The chips were thick and crisp and the peas retained their colour, rather than the rancid green-yellow-grey offerings from most budget places! Speaking of budget, we inadvertently ordered mains which happened to be on offer at something like two for £14.99. We expected processed nastiness but both meals were super. They have a great choice of draught ale and cider, wines and spirits. Parking is available including disabled access to both carpark and the pub itself. There is outdoor seating to the front (patio), side (patio), and further adjacent to the side (grassed area); the nearest side being non smoking. The bathrooms were very clean and pleasant smelling. Read moreHaving been here before and had good service we went back for another football match viewing and had awful service. Firstly we’d pre booked and our table had been given to people who were just being served food, so we literally had to wait ages for our table. Then we had to ask like many others did too for the football to be put on the TV as it was showing cricket yet everyone came for the football. As we’d pre booked our table like many had, the manager came around asking for orders of burgers but like on our previous visit we got ignored and never asked. Felt like we weren’t good enough. Bar staff weren’t much help either. Waited 10mins at the bar to be served when it was quiet, staff looking at us but blatantly ignoring us. Really poor service from our visit. To the point we will not be going back. They’ve lost our custom due to their poor...
Read moreArranged to meet a few friends for lunch as a catch up before Christmas. The pub was very accommodating and seated us at a table large enough that we weren't banging elbows.
Our visit was on a Tuesday and there was an offer on for a curry and a pint/drink for £10 (ish). I say "ish" as it depends on what drink you have, or so I believe. Sugar tax, maybe?!
Ordering through an app has become the norm and I've got no issue with it. Its quick and easy and everything is brought to you. Only ever an issue if you can't get good mobile service.
The food came out piping hot and very well presented. Good sized portions too! No complaints about the food at all.
The only criticism I do have, is that the choices of curry on the offer, were very limited. That being said, I highly recommend the...
