New Hum-Ming Garden — Restaurant in England

Visited on a Friday evening. Having young urchins with us we arrived early. Withing 20 mins of opening the place was filling up. Fantastic friendly service from the moment we arrived. Not had one of these all you can eat buffets before and I must say it is so much nicer than queuing with 'the public' to get to trays if food. Ordered some starters and we were encouraged to order more things to try. The crab claws weren't very good but the rest was banging! The kids ate about 4 portions of rubs, they were very good. We all ordered mains and sides and again when we were half way through those we were asked if we wanted to order anything else. We ordered some more mains and sides. The noodles were amazing. Wouldn't recommend. Had a takeaway (and maybe that was part of the problem), and found it to be of poor quality. There was no depth to the flavour in any of the dishes, and none really stood out. Disappointing not to see prawn crackers come with the order as is standard, but wouldn't have mattered if food was good quality. Also managed to mess up our order, providing us with a meat version of their 'veggie special', containing prawns, beef and chicken. Not sure why/ how that happened - but poor all round. Had to go back to correct when realised it was wrong - costing us time and money. Given 2 stars as they at least had the decency to give us back the price difference between the dishes. Would have been better to refund the whole dish as a way of an apology, but guess that's not how...

First visit for a long time and thoroughly enjoyed it. We opted for the Buffet minimum @ £20.95 per person, which included 'Sterters & Mains'. You basically ordered what you liked off the extensive menu and could keep going back for as much as you liked as often as you liked. Service was prompt and with plenty of smiles, and all food was served freshly cooked and piping. Deserts, we're an extra and all ice cream based, but a good selection and all reasonably priced. In addition to the excellent food and service, there is a nice beer garden to the rear, which is nice for a drink on a warm evening and a good sized car park is at the side of the property.
