A party of 8 of us (6adults & 2 children) visited for our Sunday dinner. My 6year old grandson has a very severe egg allergy so we asked for the allergens book tocheck ingredients Staff were unable to find the book & the wifi was not working correctly. We eventually found it online & ordered. We ordered 2 sharing platters & a camembert to share as starters. These arrived & were nice but halfway through us eating them the waitress started to bring our main courses out. She realised & apologised & said she would take them back so we said we didnt want them to be kept warm as we had actually asked for a 10/15 minute break between courses. She then cleared the starter plates & bought our main courses out which were dry & luke warm. My husband ordered a signature burger & the bun was rock hard & burger & cheese were dried up. We called the waitress over & explained & shd said that the food had been kept for us but she would return it & get hot food out to us. My mum had actually eaten her crackling & just to prove that the food was then just microwaved when my son received his new plate of roast pork it was mums plate with no crackling on. My husband was served a “new” burger in a new bun but the burger was still cold & very rubbery. He ended up having nothing to eat. My daughter who is 36 weeks pregnant had chicken pie , which again had obviously been kept warm & then microwaved as the mash & gravy had a film on top, she ate most of the pie but unfortunately she has been up since 4am being sick. Both my son & mum who had the pork were also sick so we can only assume it is where food had been kept warm under the lamp but then as it was not hot had also been microwaved. I have tried to call the restaurant today to tell the manager of the issues but unfortunately cannot get an answer on the phone. We are frequent visitors to this establishment but after this experience yesterday would seriously think before returning. We are not the type of people to moan or send food back but yesterday we had no choice. Our bill was over £220.00 & we feel it was a complete waste...
Read moreDisappointing, the first main we ordered the sea bass was unavailable, our server went away while we decided again, only to find out that the second choice 3 meat roast was also unavailable! At no point did our server inform us about this while we perused the menu, we also heard him having to tell other patrons the same! That said he was very polite and apologetic and efficient as he possibly could be, waiting at tables and also serving at the bar, no wonder we waited 30 minutes for our meal! We both ended up having a roast, one turkey and one beef, the stuffing was missing from my plate, so he had to return to the kitchen to retrieve some, the roast potatoes had obviously been heated up as they ranged from rock hard crispy or soft and over nuked! My veg was nice until I saw my partner's offering of carrots and parsnips, which were thin and stringy, ike cardboard apparently, where at mine were all a decent size. The beef I was told had no flavour and neither did the potatoes too be fair. This was a Sunday lunch time at 2pm, how they were going to cope for the rest of the service I do not know. Dessert time, and our first choice was guess what? unavailable, as was the clotted cream which we both fancied and was replaced by ice-cream, we didn't want that, so that was another 2 dishes we couldn't have, we finally went for brownie sundaes, which were served in the small size glass sundae dishes, not the tall ones we imagined for the price. By this time we had far surpassed our table time which was 2-3.30, as the booking app had given us. We didn't stay for coffee as we normally would have. On the way out I saw a large poster about boozy desserts which Id seen on the way in, but had forgotten about, but had not been told about at all and were not on the menu anywhere? Had they run out? Forgot them? Who knows, but we won't be visiting again...
Read moreQuite disappointed unfortunately as this is our local pub but won't hurry to go back. I'll start with the positive, the guy who served at the bar was friendly and polite. It was Sunday early evening and he informed us the roast dinners were sold out as well as the pies and pizzas, I understand it had probably been busy for roasts on a Sunday but still was really hoping to have a roast dinner. We ended up choosing the lamb rump/mini pie duo and ultimate burger. Considering the lamb rump is the most expensive main meal on the menu at £20.99 what I was served could never be considered value for money, three very small pieces of lamb, mini pie is an understatement it was tiny, plain pieces of roast potato (menu stated these were rosemary and garlic Parmentier, but in fact they were totally plain and flavourless) ONE thin slice of carrot, some peas, green beans and a few mangetout. It was honestly so disappointing and how you could ever charge £21 for this is beyond me! My husband's burger was ok, not much pulled pork at all and not much flavour, and a small handful of chips on the side, £16.49. Now I will add we (thankfully) had a voucher for £40% off our meals, if this wasn't the case I really would have needed to complain because these meals are simply not good enough for the prices on the menu and I would absolutely not be happy to pay the full price. We were not asked when we paid at the end how our meal was otherwise I would have expressed this to the server. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food and it puts us...
