Scoops Express Desserts (Chaddesden, Derby) — Restaurant in England

We went here last night with our small guide unit, we had prebooked a table and had asked them at booking if they did anything which was dairy free as we had someone attending with a dairy allergy, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was catered for. There wasn't anything dairy free on the menu but the manager made me a dairy free sundae and left instructions on how to make it. The drinks came out together and we were warned the desserts could come out separately which we were happy with especially as there was 11 of us. In the end as they bought out each batch of desserts the next was ready so there wasn't really any waiting between the desserts coming out to us. I’m not one for complaints but this was the worst peri chicken meal I’ve ever had. I ordered a meal that arrived late despite being pre-booked, the ‘melted cheese’ on the chips was nothing like cheese, it looked and tasted like something out of a squeezy bottle that made the chips soggy. The peri sauce was more like a paste that stuck to your teeth and had such a strong concentrated flavour it was not nice at all. I was so disappointed with it as we’ve had puddings from Scoops before that have been really nice but the chicken was dreadful. We've been coming to Scoops since we moved to Derby in 2021 and they've always been top notch for desserts and their milkshakes have always been spot on, exactly the kind of decadent, creamy sweet treat you need! As I am vegan, my partner always gets me a tango iceblast instead of a milkshake, however recently Scoops has introduced a long awaited vegan dessert and milkshake menu that I HAD to try. Of course it is AMAZING, I'll be returning more frequently now that there are vegan options and it's somewhere I can bring my vegan friends now too! Absolutely love the staff in here too, they're incredibly patient and unphased by any rush I've seen them handle. Amazing...
