Shanghai Restaurant — Restaurant in England

From the outside it doesn't look too inviting but when you enter it harks back to a time of Chinese influence. So don't let this put you off. The service was inviting and exceptional. The food was one of the best sampled around the world at some of the best Chinese Restaurants we have ever tasted. And we have been to quite a few. We started off with half a Crispy Aromatic Duck, Pork Dumplings and Spring rolls. Heaven. Followed off with Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Pork Fillet, Sweet and Sour King Prawns, Steak in a Black Bean Sauce with the ubiquitus chips and Fried Rice. We were soo full we couldn't finish it but wanted to as a table of three. Will we return, without a doubt. I would encourage everyone else to as well, this venue will certainly not dissapoint. I haven’t been to the Shanghai in many years it brought back a lot of family memories. We came here for my Dad’s birthday and I was pleasantly surprised how the quality of their food has remained consistent to how it tasted when I was a kid. Even the building interior hasn’t changed (I think an upgrade is needed) The staff were very friendly, our waitress was very cheerful and checked up on us often. We ordered Banquet B and shared a pot of Chinese tea. The food was great with a nice variety of dishes on each course. Decided to try after reading the reviews and comparing to other restaurants. In a very old building but had a great feel to it and place was comfortably warm. Spot on for a big meal. We decided to go for a banquet for vaule and wasn't disappointed at all. Found the prices slightly on the high side Compared to other restaurants however the quality of the food and service made up for this. Couldn't fault the service was quick very friendly and spot on.
