When all the reviews were five star we were so excited I called to check when the kitchen closed to make sure we got there with plenty of time the kitchen closed at 10 and we arrived at 9. We ordered straight away just garlic bread and some cokes, the restaurant was quite empty only 2 other tables after we finished our food a young man came over and said ār u done with thatā which my sister said no he took my plate and said āu ready for your mains yetā very passive aggressive. The whole time we were sat around 4 staff were all stood at the bar snickering, looking at us, and laughing. When our food came the young man aggressively put down the plates and gave us very little Parmesan - Ik it sounds petty but he was very passive aggressive and short with me and my sister for the whole evening. The food was plain and untasteful we literally ordered meatballs and pasta I donāt know why it tasted like nothing. We barely ate any of it and I asked for a takeaway tub when the lady picked up our plates a knife full of tomatoe sauce fell on my sister white top and it fell towards her face. The woman was reasonable and went to go and get a wet cloth, offered to foot the dry cleaning bill. When she returned my sister had left obviously very frustrated and she had brought back a lemon hand wipe š. I payed the bill and left. Honestly I have never written a bad review on anywhere because I understand not everyone has the same ideals as me and have other things going on. In my eyes what started off as a kind gesture of taking my sister out for a meal turned into a waste of time money and food. I payed Ā£50 for not the best food a stained top and to be made like we were being rushed out of the door due to being the last customers. I always try to be reasonable but it was honestly the worst...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this was one of the worst dining experiences Iāve had, which is especially disappointing as we were really looking forward to trying our new local Italian restaurant after recently moving to the area.
We had booked ahead and our food and drinks arrived quickly. We ordered two pasta dishes, which were okay but quite bland, they tasted more like something from a jar than what we expected based on the positive reviews.
As soon as we finished eating, our plates were cleared and we were approached by four different staff members offering us the dessert menu. We politely declined each time and continued chatting over our drinks, but it felt like we were being pressured to leave. Within five minutes, two more servers came by to ask if we wanted anything else, and the atmosphere started to feel uncomfortably tense, as though we were being watched or hurried out.
Then, quite abruptly, my unfinished drink was taken from the table without a word, and at that point we decided to leave. Iāve genuinely never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant.
I completely understand that restaurants need to turn tables, but weād only been there for about 35 minutes, and with prices close to Ā£40 for two pasta dishes and drinks, Iād expect to be able to enjoy a relaxed meal without feeling rushed.
Itās a shame, as the setting itself is lovely, but the overall experience left us disappointed and uncomfortable, and we wonāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe noisiest place I have ever eaten, and I have been to hundreds of restaurants from cafes to pub grub places and 1 and 2 star Michelin over the years. Absolutely unbelievable; rather than try and moderate the behaviour of other diners, the waiters were actually winding it up - the table of ten behind us were screaming so loudly my granddaughter and stepdaughter were literally flinching, yet the waiter was screaming along with them. My party consisted of a 13 year old, a 19 year old a 32 year old and myself in my 60ās - so itās not just an old age thing - and all of us couldnāt wait to leave - which is just as well as they treated us like a conveyor belt. Our table was booked from 6-8pm. We were instructed in no uncertain terms - three times - that they needed the table back by 8pm. They neednāt have worried. We had finished by 6:35. Drinks order taken immediately, drinks served within 3-4 minutes, garlic bread arrived two minutes later and 2 of the main courses another 4-5 minutes later. One of the waitresses actually asked if we were ok being served so quickly - a bit late as we had the food in front of us. Having said that the other two meals didnāt arrive until we were half way through ours. My daughter summed it up - itās a place to come along, eat ok food, get really drunk and...
