Unreconstructed old school boozer with good selection of beers. I had the Ossett Yorkshire Blonde which was great and Clattering oatmeal stout also tried, also well kept and with a complex maltiness that delivers a great finish. Facilities were clean with hot water and liquid soap. The large front bar goes back into some snugs and access to a small garden.

Lovely bar, friendly service, really olde worlde feel to it and the tiny beer garden outside is a hidden gem because it's not advertised outside as having one but it does and on a hot day it's perfect because it's tucked away, quiet and shaded and the selection of beers is decent and well priced.

The snickleway Inn is a former John Smith's pub. It now has five hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales and also craft beers. The ones we sampled were in excellent condition. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, it's a lovely cosy pub, a visit is highly recommended.

The pub experience was terrible. We were told that the pub is dog friendly, but ironically the barman was not dog friendly at all. Our dog was off the lead for less than a minute, briefly on the furniture, and we were asked in a highly impolite and unpleasant fashion to keep the dog on lead at all times. We do not mind the rules at all, in fact completely respect it, but the barman could have been polite in his ways. We had to leave the pub, with just 6 customers including ourselves already, after the very first drink because of the...

We went to the Snickleway tonight to support our friend Robin Pickford - his first gig since March 2020. On arrival, we were greeted by Robin. However, on approaching the bar, we were told by an extremely rude barman that we couldn't get served because it was 'table service only' - despite these restrictions being rescinded by the government. We said goodbye to Robin and left. Now there's plenty of competition out there and we found another bar nearby doing service at the bar. Needless to say, we won't be returning to this venue....

The service at the bar was terrible, there was only one person waiting when I walked in so I stood next to him, then another guy walked in and stood at the end. The barman walked straight up to this guy, he obviously knew him because after he ordered his beer he said "get one in for Tom", I said that we were first but the barman still served him first. The guy who pushed in then made a joke about us being invisible.

We both walked...
