Sticky's Late Bar & Burger Joint — Restaurant in England

Been here a few times with my partner and would usually say its 5 stars all round, but tonight was different. My partner went to sit down but was told 2 people can’t have a booth which we’ve never been told before but fair enough. My partner spoke to the man and tried to have a laugh with him and was ignored and also when asking how to pay (it’s changed since we last went) was totally ignored. I also wanted beef brisket on my parmo but they didn’t have any, I was told it would be removed from the bill so assumed it was. I checked the receipt at home and had been charged for it. Also the fries weren’t cooked properly but parmo and burger were nice. I understand people have off days and make mistakes but it’s not an excuse to be blatantly rude. Had high hopes for this place considering the good reviews. When we arrived we were sat at the smallest table despite the place being empty, I asked the waitress if we could sit in a booth instead but we were told no, we'd have to wait to see how busy the place got, the 2 people that came after us were immediately sat in a booth( no, it was not reserved). I just found it was unnecessary from the waitress, when we got there there the place was basically empty. The food was average, very small portion for the price. We tried a couple of times to get the waitress to come over to order some drinks but found the waitresses to be quite ignorant. My wife and I thought we'd give Sticky's a try after reading some positive reviews. The food was really nice, we went for an OG sharer where you get a selection of items from the menu and a cocktail each. The food was really nice and our cocktails tasted amazing, so I'll certainly go back.

The only downsides I could mention albeit minor, was that I was sat on a metal chair, which there were a few of in the venue and they weren't very comfortable. Overall service was average, very friendly but a bit disjointed, we felt a little left alone and an after thought.
