Working away for next 3 weeks thought I'd treat myself to my favourite curry before I come home and it didn't disappoint. Normally wary of new places but it on my route home daily. Lamb naga and pilau rice cost just over £13 as its 20% discount on collection. Value for money lots of flavour plenty of meat even thrown my a poppadom and a sauce in. Will definitely be returning when back next week , quite possibly the best curry I've had. 10/10 from me and a must try. The guy serving was very polite and talkative makes you feel welcome upon entering.

What can I say about Tale of Spice? The food was of outstanding quality. The service was 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend this Indian. When leaving the restaurant they presented my partner with a red rose which was a very nice way to end the evening. They have a great selection of wines, beers and spirits as well as soft drinks for those driving!

Very abrupt staff & uninviting. Thought the dead flowers on the table I was sat at was a sign.... Food very bland and tastless. Without a doubt the worst I have ever had. Would not visit again....

Very disappointed with a Friday Night meal.... restaurant was not busy by any means and I felt completely rushed to finish my meal with waiters continuously peering over our shoulders to see if we had finished and one even tried to take plates away that still had food on! I could understand if there was a que at the door however this was not the case. I have noticed this before however tried to ignore it, even heard another table make comments ( jokingly) to the staff about it but could see he was annoyed. We left half our food as we were made to feel really uncomfortable.

That being said the meat dishes are a good standard, rice is a little poor. If you want a relaxing meal with your partner after a long days work do not go here as you will be rushed out the door! We will not be going again which is a shame as is...

Tale of Spice is a reasonably-priced Indian restaurant in Chippenham. To begin with, it may seem a bit precocious and up-itself. However, you'll soon realise that actually the staff are friendly, the food is delicious and very high-quality for its price, and the portions are the perfect size. When you're finished, you'll be given a hot lemon-scented hand towel (lovely), a little chocolate (even better) and an orange rose for each of the female members of your party (even, even better). They have very mild and very spicy dishes, and all in between, and service is good. On a Sunday, they have a deal on which makes it cheaper, though it can be quite busy so I'd advise booking ahead. All in all, Tale of Spice gets a 10/10 from me! I hope this...

Extremely disappointed with our visit. Ordered the chicken tikka main – the chicken was hard and clearly tasted like it had been defrosted. The garlic chicken had no flavour at all, and again, the chicken was tough with an unpleasant snap to it. The butter chicken tasted more like a korma and had a gritty texture.

When we politely complained, the manager became rude and hostile instead of trying to resolve the issue. We said we were happy to pay for our drinks and the starter we actually ate, but he threatened to call the police when we refused to pay for the mains we couldn’t eat.

In the end, we still paid £55 for just two pints, one spirit drink, and a bottle of water. Absolutely shocking experience – would not...
