me and my partner spontaneously booked a reservation here. we initially had plans for a chinese, but as soon as we came across this we decided to book. the reviews alone drew us in !
the location is absolutely perfect. i've never been to stockton heath before and im shocked because its been right in front of me this whole time.
the atmosphere is unreal, we were greeted immediately by the lovely lady (i didn't get her name, i am SO sorry) but all night she was so kind, so attentive, treated us like a couple of old friends oppose to just any old regular customers ! im still blown away by how well we were looked after and how gorgeous the entire building is.
our server was a young lad, he was so polite and was more than happy to give us a few extra minutes to see what we wanted to order (he was not pushy, i just kept talking oppose to looking what i wanted) and each time he came over he was extremely professional and did an absolutely wonderful job last night !!!!
the food -
this was my first time ever experience a tapas place and i am so ?? shocked ?? because why have i never had this before! every dish was cooked to order, and was prepared and brought out in absolutely amazing timing. we were not waiting long at all for any dish! so massive thank you to the chef and all the staff who made that possible!
everything looked wonderful, i even tried sushi and squid for the first time! which, if you'd have asked me 24 hours previous if i would ever eat squid i would have probably made the most repulsed face. but no, this was cooked to perfection, the perfect texture and a very lovely taste!
I can't fit all my thoughts into this review, but i cannot recommend this place enough. it's perfect for a date night, perfect for an outing with friends and family!
Thank you so much for making the evening as good as it was, and we will...
Read moreI celebrated my birthday with friends here last night. We thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hours eating, drinking and chatting. Great decor and friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. A complimentary glass of prosecco for the birthday girl and a run through the menu and specials board by the server answering any questions we had and checking if we had any allergies etc. followed by recommendations was very welcome as none of us had eaten here before. The food was varied and definitely something for everyone. The main menu wasn't available on this occasion which didn't matter to us too much as we love tapas but I thought it was a good thing if someone in the party not keen on small plates or wanted something more substancial. The pinchos board was so tasty, the n' duja parma ham, pesto mozzerella and tiger prawn very pretty and the delicious hummus arrived quickly with the wine and beer we'd ordered. A great start. The 15 dishes we'd selected arrived together shortly after we'd finished the appetisers, piping hot in terracota dishes so we could all dig in together. It was a veritable feast -I went for non traditional Tapas Turkish sausage omelette Portugese salt cod and spinach feta filo pastries. Absolutely delicious and I was not disappointed with perfect portions and flavours. I love it when I find food combinations that I've not tried before on the menu. I also tried the succulent spicy prawns in the pil pil dish. I had just enough room for a crème brûlée to finish! I felt like I had gone round a world of flavours and didn't feel rushed nor kept waiting so for me the perfect meal with...
Read moreMy wife and I took an impromptu meal out without the kids! Being our first time to Tapas Del Mundo we didn't know quite what to expect, and although it was quiet at the time of our visit, everything else about our experience was 5 star! Firstly, the staff were very polite, efficient and extremely attentive, you never felt that you had to call anyone over to ask for things, even the simple tap water for the table came in a nice bottle and was ice cold. The great variety of the menu meant that we weren't short of what to choose and when our food arrived, it didn't disappoint! Beautifully presented, superb quality and absolutely delicious…every dish! Joanna, the owner/manager was so friendly and personable and stopped at our table for a quick chat which we thought was a nice touch, nothing like making your customers feel welcome and important. Equally, her daughter was very well mannered and kindly explained the menu, she also did a great job of selling us a fab cheese cake, even if I'm sure I didn't need dessert, I'm glad I did, it was so good! We had another nice chat with Joanna on our why out and it was great to hear her explain her passion for the business and how it involved the whole family, her husband is the head chef (I think), so kudos to him for a wonderful meal. Thanks Joanna and team, we'll definitely recommend Tapas Del Mundo to friends and family, and we'll be back soon…Carla and Nigel. P.s I only dropped a star on 'Atmosphere' because it was unusually quiet, but it was the night of the Daresbury Festival and also BBQ weather outside so I don't think it was a reflection on the...
