I wouldn't even rate this place even a star but unfortunately I can't rate them any lower than this. We went today for dinner at Tavan for our wedding anniversary. We ordered our food, once it arrived we began to eat. One of the writers came over to see how the food was. We were just in the middle of eating one of the platters so said everything is fine. Later when we tried the second dish we, we really didn't like it at all and left it basically untouched. We asked the waiter to call the manager so we could discuss this. My God, this man did not have a single clue about customer service and started speaking over me and didn't even apologise one. When I said to him that I also work in management I know how customers should be dealt with. He then boosted about how he was an 'owner'. I explained to him that I refuse to pay for something that we didn't even touch. He then said he doesn't care if we give him a bad review and basically in other words told us to get out. Worst experience ever!!!!!!!!!!! He was the most unprofessional owner I had ever met! He then went on telling me that how he is running a business! Good for you mate! You doing a rubbish job of it!!!!!!!
SCREW YOURSELF! AND THANKS FOR RUINING OUR DAY!!!!!
I HOPE THAT £11.50 BUYS YOU...
Read moreMy partner and I went here first time. It's a very nice building! We both had the Taven Special menu for 2. I ordered the Moussaka as main, I have to say it's not my favourite, I wouldn't order that again. But my partner ordered the Lamb Tazine and he loved it. The starters were amazing, cold and hot.. definitely recommended. Our waiter Sumon was amazing, he was attentive and made us feel welcome. The only thing I would like to mention is: when we finished our main we were so full anfd after 10 seconds the dessert were already served on our table. Would be great next time maybe to wait at least 5 minutes or so? We would come back as the food and service was great. Thank you and...
Read moreWhat a beautiful little gem in the city centre. Tavan is one of those restaurants you can easily pass on the outside and mistake it for something else like a hotel but go inside and you are greeted by the welcoming staff, an impressive menu and fantastic flavours from Morocco.
The aubergine dip tastes fresh along with a trio of other flavours all accompanied with plenty of home made bread. Main course is a meat feast all worth the wait and some dishes served in traditional Moroccan pots.
They offer Belly Dancing every first Thursday of the month and reservations are recommended for a weekend or Friday evening booking. Definitely a new...
