Garden is beautiful. Great for drinks in summer. Food is average, standard pub grub and not unreasonable pricing. Just wish the decor had a revamp, they put on more entertainment, played music in the garden and advertised a bit more. The place has so much potential, just doesn’t seem the management really want to pull in the custom. Could be wonderful, just seems like not much effort goes into it. Bit of a revamp, maybe get sky sports and some tv’s in the bar area/ garden so the football/sport can be shown, music playing in garden, make use of the bbq area they have outside but never seem to open and the place could be thriving. Could be the perfect local establishment for the residents of the westone/headlands area but just needs a small amount of money investing and a bit of effort putting...

Was looking forward to the roast dinner, which I had, but was not at it was before lockdown. The portion size hadn't changed but the meal has as it was like having an "Aunty Bessie" meal out. Previously the roast dinner was thoroughly enjoyable with the Yorkshire pudding being an individual large size and the roast potatoes crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle. The service wasn't great either. I don't think they were staffed up enough for the amount of custom they were receiving. It's a shame as it used to be somewhere we looked forward to going. Table booked for 5.30 sat down to eat at7.30. I'm convinced that the two waiters were also cooking the food. Never got asked if we required drinks during the course of the meal and then spent half an hour trying to pay the bill just so we could get out of the place.
