Tesco Extra Café — Restaurant in England

I was pleased to see the introduction of a touchscreen ordering system which beats the traditional queue in my opinion as you can easily see everything that's available. Anyone who doesn't like these can ask staff to help. My vegetarian breakfast was scrumptious. Poached egg, beans, fried bread, hash browns & sausages. I'm not usually taken with veggie sausages, but these were superb. There is a choice in eggs and bread, plus optional add-ons. A sideboard contains a good selection of condiments - pleased to see sauce bottles in place of fiddly and wasteful sachets. My only criticism is of the Americano coffee, which was on the weak side for me as I like it strong. The staff were polite and efficient and the place is very nicely appointed with comfortable seating. I've seen it gets rather busy at lunchtime, so I recommend off-peak. I look forward to...

My missus and I went their and from the off, it was bad. Told them I was allergic to certain foods, was assured not in items I ordered, however food arrives, and I can smell the item I am allergic to. The missus cut into her food and found the sausage was still raw, and her fried egg had 2 pieces of shell still in the egg. Reported to management team, not overly bothered and had to tell them I wanted a refund. But the worse thing about the cafe were the large number of flies around the coffee machines and the kitchen area. Will never go to that cafe again. Needs overhauling, or shut down.
