I revisited the Istanbul restaurant with a friend this evening. We shared a 2-person mixed grill plate and we both enjoyed it very much. The only concern I had during the meal were children from other tables screaming, yelling, crying, and playing on the floor during our meal. One child was even pushing his head along the floor! No one from the staff intervened, not even the child's parents, other than to tell people that if their child was bothering them, to tell them. The fact they even said that tells me they knew their child was being disruptive. Still, the food was as good as ever; my only regret is that I didn't have enough room for dessert.

Well what can we say....with so many restaurants to choose from in Harrogate, our group of 4 all agree Istanbul Grill was a brilliant choice and it definitely lived up to it's numerous 5 star reviews. The food was exceptional, the drinks lovely and our waitress, Dala, was amazing and went above and beyond - she was warm and attentive and made our experience so memorable. It was my husband's birthday and they really made a fuss of him and made his night unforgettable. We will definitely be back when we're next in Harrogate and would highly recommend you to visit 😊.

8 of us had the most enjoyable and fantastic dinner experience at Istanbul. Meals were large-portioned, extremely well prepared and cooked, and absolutely delicious! My wife said it was in the top two of all the places she's eaten in Harrogate in 10 years! High praise! We even had a complimentary platter of meat from the chef! (I had a wonderfully tasty vegetarian option myself - see photo). The waitresses who served us were outstanding, polite and efficient. A fantastic night out, lovely atmosphere, nice and fresh decor. Will certainly return 👍👍👍👍👍

We came in the other night as a large group 13 adults, 4 kids. Once everyone had decided what they wanted and started to provide their order the waitress then decided to let us know that 1) there was no pizza dough and 2) there was no pasta. This should of been said as soon as we walked through the door. As a popular restaurant NOT having these two ingredients on a busy Saturday night wasn't the best idea!

Eventually everyone had chosen their alternatives, the waitress took our order well atleast some of it and also walked away from my partner who was in process of giving her his order.

About 45 - 60 mins later food started to arrive to the table but the waitress had duplicated least 5 of the mains and the rest of the orders didn't turn up. We queried this with staff who checked with the kitchen staff and confirmed half of our order had been missed, resulting in those who were without having their order taken AGAIN.

At this point I was extremely frustrated with the lack of skill and training. I told the waitress not to bother with my order.

Another 30 mins go by and most of the missed meals had now arrived at the table including burnt nachos. However one meal had been missed off AGAIN resulting in a very angry table of hungry customers.

The two girls who were supposedly "looking after us" avoided us as much as possible, had little knowledge about the menu, were unable to write down orders properly and unable to even get something as simple as a glass of water. The manager lacked interest in the situation and came over and whispered "sorry" into one person's ear.

Once people had finished their semi edible food we left, whilst we were leaving one of the waitresses had the audacity to ask us if we wanted to see the desert menu. How embarrassing.

Safe to say NONE of us who sat round that table will be returning after such a shocking evening, thank you for ruining a birthday meal for 3 people in the group!!

If I could give NO...

I recently booked the Istanbul Turkish Bar and Grill for my fiancée's 26th birthday party and we weren't disappointed.

On booking I was asked to pay a deposit in advance as the party size was over 10 people which I think was very fair. The staff and owner were all very accommodating in making this event personable. The restaurant has been newly renovated since we last attended and I believe now under new management. The new owner and staff have put a lot of heart into the new renovations and it looks and feel inviting.

The food was outstanding. Personally we love Turkish food however there is something for all even those who feel a little less adventurous. There were 13 people in our party and we all ordered starters and a main. We had Olives with feta cheese and the chicken wings both of which were delicious. Others had mezze sharing platters and breads with tzatziki which looked great. For mains most ordered the chicken or lamb with salad and rice which was again delicious. We kept the menu at our table which is always nice incase you want to order more or argue with each other about who had what on the bill afterwards 😀.

The staff were very kind in letting us bring our own cake and helping us to celebrate and personally waved us off afterwards which I thought was nice. We go to so many restaurants where you pay your bill then you feel either rushed out the door or they don't even notice when you get up to leave. Overall, we left that evening full of good vibes to continue the night and we would thoroughly recommend Istanbul to anyone...

We visited on a Friday evening, it was very busy but they found us a table. Everyone was very nice, accommodating and friendly.

We had the set menu, £25 per person, hot or cold mezze platter to share for starter and then a choice of anything from the ala carte menu.

The platter was excellent, stunning - the best jalapeno cheese poppers i've ever had, cheese in pastry things were excellent... everything was nice.

that practically filled us up before our mains, so beware - don't eat the lovely warm bread if you want to leave space..

i had the marinated lamb chops and girlfriend had the t-bone steak.

best chops i've ever had - 5 of them, perfectly cooked and seasoned. tender, tasty, beautiful. recommended by the bald manager guy - and he was right. served with excellent rice ,veg and dips.

my g/f likes steak, but she said this was amazing. one side was the tenderest and tasty she's ever had, the other side not as tender but full of flavour. and also huge, the steak was massive.

brilliant restaurant, excellent wines as well. great experience on our trip to n yorkshire. thank...
