Fantastic pub/restaurant for authentic Thai food and to indulge in the many beverages available.
For anyone that's travelled and spent time in Thailand the food here has the same feel and experience as if you was in Thailand it self. It's a shame you can only give 5 stars as it would be 10 stars.
Been 3 times recently and every time the food and service has been spectacular.
Big highlights are the Thai sticky ribs for starters. The meat falls off the bone and is delicious and delightful with every bite and brilliant for sharing between a small group.
For the main, curries are brilliant, will suggest the penang or massaman myself, if you can handle the spice or up for a challenge, try it! , my partner had the Pad Thai and her quote is 'This is super delicious' A member of the group is vegetarian and they was very impressed with amount of options available.
Service was great all around, very friendly people and the place and every table was full. Atmosphere was great and ambient and feel of the pub is warm and welcoming and well presented.
Thanks again to the staff at the blue anchor for a...
Read moreThe area around Hove / Boundry rd is crying out for more decent pubs, the Blue Anchor is not one of them. Been into this pub a number of times always thinking I'll give it another go always disappoints. Just been in again,5.10pm on Friday and no bitters on tap ask if I can order some food knowing that the kitchen doesn't open till 5.30 but thought they can serve my beer take my order all ready to go.Eh no can't do that can't order till 5.30. So I'm stuck in a pub drinking a beer I didn't really want then gone 5.30 can't get served to order my food anyway. Walked out went elsewhere. I'm a season ticket holder at The Amex and it's embarrassing that this pub calls itself an Albion pub. Came back from the game with friends on the bus and they said let's go to the Blue Anchor bus goes past and it's near your house I said let's go elsewhere spent the evening in The Railway...
Read moreNice pub with reasonable prices and a large selection of draught beers and ales. Not the trendiest of pubs or in a particularly trendy location so if that's what you're after I'd go elsewhere. Dogs always welcome. Small garden out the back which is pleasant enough, has a nicely decorated and cosy shed in so smokers have shelter in cold weather. But the real star of this pub and my main reason for ever going is the food!!! Apple the chef, who is Thai makes authentic, fresh absolutely delicious thai dishes at very good prices. Definitely worth trying... the salt and pepper spicy squid is absolutely beautiful. Lovely pad thais, great deal on mixed starters. Overall, definitely...
