Sat in the pagoda outside and was nicely sheltered even though the weather wasn't great. Me and the Mrs had the scallops from the specials board, and it may be the best £12 I've ever spent they were absolutely beautiful. The youngest son had a childrens scampi and chips, and he absolutely wolfed the lot and a perfect portion for a very hungry 6 year old. Everything home made and the chips were first class. The eldest son had an adult fish and chips, and he polished it all off. The fish was as fresh as a daisy, and the batter was crispy as you like. Service was swift and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. 👌5⭐️

oh my goodness..fantastic find on the coastal path.beautiful place to sit and relax over great coffee and food. had a cream scone and so nice to have the jam and clotted cream come in pots and not the impersonal plastic container with jam in a small jar...not just more tasty but less waste to! staff are great and dogs very very welcome.....mine was very happy with her treat... thank you!

A nice new cafe with a bright cheerful interior. They have a combination of table seating as well as couches which were very comfortable. We had a couple of glasses of wine which were nice and some calamari with chips. The chips were great with the right amount of crispness. The calamari was nice too except the portion was small for the price. The service was very friendly.

At first we were sat in the corner but we decided to move because of the noise of the kitchen.

We asked if we could put the two tables together by the window and sit there but apparently two more customers can sit there so we had to sit on a bigger table away from the window.

I would recommend not telling multiple existing paying customers that they are not as important as two potential single customers.

The serving girl, bless her, forgot our order first off and had to come back and ask us again. It was brought to our table by what I think was the owner and it was a very cold experience. No greetings and no other niceties.

Our coffee was reasonable and the serving girl pointing us towards the easy exit that was on the flat.

I think I'll choose to go somewhere...

I first came here in a former incarnation as a child, 30 years ago, so I have a bit of an affection for the place.

In its current guise it is a bit unadventurous - ironically I remember it being a lot more outlandish both in terms of decor and the menu back in the 1980s, which is not generally a decade associated with culinary excellence in the UK. The menu today is very short, more of a cafe feel than a restaurant, mainly sandwiches with a very small selection of hot dishes (fish and chips, lasagne, one or two others). Perhaps this is just what the local market demands, but it seemed slightly surprising given all the multi million pound houses in the area that Portscatho doesn't have a slightly more...
