The Boot & Shoe — Restaurant in England

I entered the boot and shoe today as my 12 yr old son was desperate for the toilet and the place had always been friendly as I've occasioned there a lot. I have Hypermobility Syndrome and walk with a cane and sat down as I've been having a bad pain day. The blonde lady behind the bar asked a punter to ask me if I was there for food I said no love I'm just waiting for my son whose using the toilet. instead of asking me to purchase a drink or explaining that toilets are for customers only (if that's the case) she had a bad attitude and had a go at me saying it's not alright and not on like.

I'm diabetic and had I needed the toilet she could not have refused me but my child could not hold it and he'd done with the toilet by this point but she was aggressive and unprofessional and nasty.

So I wasn't happy and was not going to stay there taking that attitude so I took my son and proceeded to leave.

she yelled towards me that she hopes the doors hurt me on the way out which being disabled I did not appreciate nevermind wishing harm on my son's mother Infront of him. I turned and I did yell that life's hard enough without unecessary nastiness as a man of very big build was very close and intimidating and shouted oi in my ear and told me to leave as if I was in the wrong for already leaving and not being happy about her aggressive comment.

This ruined the bairns day. I had taken him to see Jurassic Park at the cinema and there was no need for threatening or intimidating behaviour from the man that was drinking there nevermind the attitude of the bar lady.

I have emailed management and this should be spoken out about.

I walk with my walking stick so don't appreciate any staff wishing me harm Infront of my son nevermind men getting so close to me when I'm already near the door.

I would have happily purchased a cola as a thank you but her aggressive attitude and lack of professionalism just made me want to leave instead.

There is a way to talk to people and you don't have to be aggressive or nasty.

There was no queue for the toilet and about six people in maybe maximum as it occurred today the 12th June 2022 at around 15:20-15:38hrs.

No one should have to tolerate abuse and it has put my son off using toilets in public in general when he's been through enough in his short life. He's in remission from Cancer and can do without any more negativity or negative experiences thank you.

I truly hope she is proud of herself and I've left reviews elsewhere too.

I would have asked her name but the man that seemed clearly to be MISOGYNISTIC by silencing me in a threatening manner prevented me from doing so.

Beautiful newly decorated and refurnished rooms. Stayed in the Green " room. Highly decorated and refurnished gone are the old dark furniture and magnolia walls. Replaced with freshly painted white walls and gorgeous new furniture. A green plush velvet bed, complete with spotless bedding and very comfortable mattress. Huge seating area with 2 x matching green velvet armchairs--çoffee table ( matching the 2 x huge white storage units) and a lovely fireplace completes that area. A large smart tv is on the wall this has Netflix ( free ) free Wi-Fi available. Tea / coffee facilities provided ( kettle and a Tassimo coffee machine) Hairdryer/ iron and ironing board also provided. Needed a mirror in bedroom area ( have mentioned this to Chris the landlord and this issue is going to be rectified) The shower room has also been highly finished -- tilled walls / loads of very clean fluffy towels--- shampoo/ conditioner and shower gel provided in dispenser in shower cubicle. The room as mentioned is decorated and furnished to a high standard spotlessly clean well worth the money. Some rooms are still in the process of getting their refurb finished but rest assured these too will be to the same high standard. I was in the bar last Saturday left my t-shirt and hugo boss leather jacket in there . Upon returning couple a days later the barmaid politely give me my t-shirt back and went to get my coat for me which she said was there. But she said it has been moved . I went back later to see the guy who runs the pub . He said I had list it outside with my t-shirt. I asked to see the cctv but he wouldn't let me . The barmaid already told me it was there. She was the honest one. I have seen cctv outside the pub and my jacket never left the pub . The landlord in this place is a thief who took my jacket somewhere . Contacted the relevant people now so people can go in there and know you are being served by a big badly thief who works for brewery running the boot and shoe .
