Mother's Day Sunday roast with the family and it did not disappoint! Having had many a roast with the family over many years THIS was the one that everyone will now have to meet. Each bite was like a warm hug with special mention to bangin' roast potatoes and leeks and swede were absolutely chefs kiss bringing the dish together. Lashings of piping hot gravy and the stuffing was delicious. As always with the CB there was service above and beyond and more importantly with a warm smile. I've had many things from the menu and it was so nice to bring the family to enjoy too giving me extra brownie points. The Biscoff tiramisu, sticky toffee pudding (and ice cream for the kids) were equally outstanding. All made for a fantastic Mothers Day outing for the family. Seems I have my own baby on the way, albeit a food baby! A very happy Charles Bradlaugh customer. Thanks to all...

If you’re craving a Sunday roast that redefines indulgence, look no further! This chicken roast is a culinary masterpiece – golden, juicy, and bursting with flavour in every bite. Paired with the creamy, decadent Parmesan leeks that melt in your mouth, this dish is a game-changer. But wait, the star sidekick here is the sausage stuffing – smoky, savory, and perfectly spiced, adding an irresistible touch that takes the meal over the top.

It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience of comfort and celebration on a plate. A true triumph for the taste buds – the kind of roast that makes Sundays worth waiting for!

To turn a good meal into a great time, Trav’s warm welcome, attention to detail, and infectious energy made the pub feel like home, adding that extra sparkle to an already unforgettable Sunday roast. Here’s to more Sundays like this –...

This is a seriously hidden gem in the town centre: a welcome respite from the sulphurous traffic and rather somnolent town without. This large, very stylish bar is really elegant, comfortably furnished and full of friendly, laid-back, good-natured people. The young woman who served me was very welcoming and efficient. There is a good range of vegan, vegetarian and meat-based dishes together with snacks and sandwiches. There is a good range of beers, wines and spirits at very competitive (but not bargain) prices. This is,without a doubt, the very best pub I found in my five days sojourning here. Hiiiiiiiiiiiiighly recommended.
