The Crown — Restaurant in England

We went here looking for food and a drink. When i was given my pint the glass felt sticky.: didn't think too much of it. We sat down to enjoy our drinks and look at the menu. The drinks were really nice,unfortunately after drinking half of my pint I noticed two,small, black 'blobs'on the rim of my glass. They were jet black and sticky (not sure how advisable it was to touch them). At this point I was no longer interested in finishing my drink:we definitely weren't interested in eating here. With a global pandemic still ongoing,no ,covid hasn't gone away, I found it incredible that they hadn't washed the glass properly. I took the glass to the bar and told the young man my issue. He immediately asked what I would like. I told him I wanted nothing: would you want risk another drink?If only that care and attention was applied to their glass washing this review would not exist. It's not difficult to wash a glass properly. It's not dificult to wash lots of glasses properly. It's not difficult to wash lots of glasses...

Seeing that the only review for this restaurant is four years out of date it's time for another one. I haven't been there before but I visited on last Saturday night having read excellent TripAdvisor reviews. I wasn't disappointed ! The place has recently been refurbished throughout, it's smart, trendy, welcoming, the staff couldn't be friendlier or more efficient. There was a power cut in the kitchens whilst I was there, but no-one was fazed, they just dealt with it. The food was excellent, plentiful and reasonably priced. Far from avoiding this place, if you're in the area I recommend going if you possibly can. Once this catches on they'll be queueing for a table...

We have just returned home after a pre Christmas family Sunday lunch get together at The Crown. There were 23 adults and 5 children and we were seated in a festively decorated, upstairs room. The menu included Sunday roast plus a variety of other meals, with a good vegetarian choice. After our main meals were served we were offered more vegetables, roast potatoes and gravy, all hot and delicious. The service was second to none by cheerful, helpful, competent waitresses. We couldn't have asked for better food or service. Thank you to The Crown...
