I dined here yesterday (21/12/2023) and from the moment I arrived the service was shocking. I walking in the door with my babe in arms, a toddler that’s 3 and my eldest daughter for a lovely Christmas school break-up treat. No one acknowledged me even though there was a waitress stood by the door. I needed a high chair so i asked for one and was answered with “there’s one over there” whilst she pointed to a dirty high chair on the other side of the room. When I realised she had no intention to retrieve it for me I went over and got it myself. I then asked for the table spray and cleaned it myself! All whilst I still had my baby in my arms. And she just watched. Our order was taken quickly which was good however whilst we were waiting for our food and drink the bell kept going off for the waitress to get our food/drink which I could see was ready on the counter but the 2 waitresses were just ignoring it whilst having a chat by the waiters station. For a good 5 minutes. When the food arrived it was lovely however the food arrived before the drinks. The coffee was delicious and so were the milkshakes. No colouring was offered at all either so when I went to the toilets I took it upon myself to look for some which I found. And when I took some to occupy my children the waitress gave me such a dirty look as if I’d done something bad? Overall the quality of food and drinks were amazing, it’s just a shame the whole experience was ruined by the lack of quality service. I certainly won’t be returning on the basis that I was made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I don’t have a lot of money as it’s Christmas but I really wanted a nice treat for my daughters and I just feel like I wasted my money and should’ve probably gone elsewhere. What a...
Read moreI've been to the Easingwold branch several times and have normally had positive experiences. However, on this occassion I left feeling unwelcome as a customer and disapointed. We arrived at lunchtime and I asked for a table for two. I was told there were no tables inside, so I said we were fine outside. The waitress then said there was a tall table at the rear, so we followed her through. We sat there at the table and looked at the menu on the app, whilst being glared at, by who I assume was either the manager or owner. After a couple of minutes she abruptly asked if we wanted a table, and I politely replied yes, and that we were ordering food on the app (which I did). I found this very odd as we were clearly already sat and looking at the menu. After only 5 minutes or so she then said something like "have you ordered food, no order has come through yet". If I hadn't of already ordered I would have walked out at that point, but I also didn't want to disapoint my son who was looking forward to lunch. We were made to feel unwelcome, and there was a distinct vibe that she thought we were up to no good or we wouldn't be ordering, and that she sincerely doubted that we had. A customer taking 5 minutes to browse a menu and order food is a small period of time, and even if I had taken 15 minutes I would never be expected to be questioned about it. The only saving grace is that the food was good. Probably won't go back again though after how I...
Read moreThey sell good coffee I have to admit, one of the better ones around. After going there for the first time I really thought it was worth travelling 20miles just to enjoy it.
It's not perfect though. I went there today and felt a bit like an alien from a distant galaxy for asking for a macchiato. Granted it was not on the menu, so I cannot blame them too much. But still, I was kind of hoping that a place, which has coffee in its name with 4.8 rating would easily be able make one.
Cake is on the sweet side. If it was up to me I would have preferred it having a third of sugar. But that is just me. Someone with a sweet tooth would certainly be delighted.
All in all, although I'm not sure I would be prepared to travel 20 miles there anymore, I still recommend it. If you find yourself cruising along A19 have a quick detour, you will be in good...
