Called in yesterday to catch up with a friend. On entering l noticed a strong smell of paint which l thought was a bit odd. I had a pleasant hour catching up and Gary behind the bar was a further addition to the happy atmosphere of the pub. Thankfully l was getting close to leaving when this was shattered. I'm disabled and need to use a stick to walk, l had hung this on the bar top, letting it drop down the front. A guy l now know to be the licensee appeared and barked at me to get it off the bar as it had just been painted. Myself and another customer became confused as to what he meant, because nothing was wet, which he then continued by saying it was the front. The other customer replied that it was fine, to which the angry guy replied "it was before you touched it". Hard to understand what sort of muppet paints a bar before opening a pub and even harder to understand why he would shout at customers for being near it. Shame it's his pub...
