Where to start? If I could give this place zero stars I would. I arrived with a party of 4 people at 3pm. At this point we were informed that they were currently doing drinks only as the kitchen wouldn’t open until 4pm. We agreed to have a drink and order food when kitchen opened. We sat down and asked for a menu. We were served by Katie who told us there was no menu. We asked for 3 beers and when it was my turn to order I asked which cocktails they had as the sign on the door promises cocktails. Katie told me that because they were very busy they were not making any cocktails at the moment. So I ordered a beer. One beer came first and the other three came 10 minutes afterwards. The beers went down well and we ordered another round at 15.45. As the other waitress was delivering the drinks, she informs us that the kitchen would not open until 5.30. A statement we found hard to believe as we could plainly see food being delivered to other tables. As they finished their food, other tables started to clear up. At this point Katie and the rest of the staff were plainly ignoring us. We had decided to finish our second round of drinks and leave when one member of my party tries to figure out what is going on. Katie first told us that there was only one chef working in the kitchen. With only 3 tables left with people in the entire establishment we pushed a little bit harder and then she told us that the chef was on break. After that, the third excuse was that there was a big party coming later and that the chef was busy preparing food for them, considering the fact that at this point we had be waiting for over an hour for the privilege to order food, we found that nothing short of insulting. Katie went back to talk to the chef to see if he could take our order. A different bartender came to our table himself, apologised and took our order. I didn’t get a chance to ask his name but he was the only member of staff who showed professionalism during our visit. About 5 minutes after we ordered our food we had the pleasure to observe 3 members of (“understaffed”) staff share a very appetising burger with chips as a side. It wasn’t until 34 minutes later that we received our order. I couldn’t finish my burger because it was so over cooked it was hard to swallow. The wings were charred. The only nice dish was the pulled pork chips which were acceptably nice. We did not receive anything close to an apology. Nor any compensation for the over 2 hours wasted waiting...
Read moreSeems like a nice bar, friendly staff, and apparently had a decent local band on the night we visited. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay to enjoy them because absolutely no consideration has been given to accessibility.
There is one sofa that's at "normal" height (i.e. the height you need to have a conversation with a wheelchair user, or for a person with limited mobility to get into) - right at the back of the room, stuck behind the pool table and and up a step. The normal tables and booths are all too high for many disabled customers to get up to. The toilets are up two flights of stairs.
While I appreciate that some of this is going to be limited by local planning permissions, I feel it needs to be pointed out here before other disabled users make the difficult trek down the hill to access the venue, only to have to make the even more difficult trek back...
Read moreWent here twice the first day were turned away because they were showing the football the second day one of the staff members were really rude and said we couldn't have cocktails as they didn't have the staff after looking around I could see 4 other tables with cocktails so when a different member of staff returned a guy then explained it was because of the ice machine and they could hopefully make them in 15 minutes when we did eventually get our cocktails which were lovely everything seemed fine. Had vegan nachos which were tasty pretty spicy. But yeah overall mixed review if the first girl wasn't so rude It would've been a...
