Awful experience. We waited 50 minutes for our lunch which never arrived. We politly informed the manager who without an apologie brought over a wooden board with an opened can of sardines dried out bread, cold and disgusting looking onion rings with dried out ketchup. When we informed the manger that we did not order this he aggressively questioned us on what we did order. Needless to say we paid and left. Clearly this is not a pub that wants to do well but if you after a bit of slapstick fawlty tower comedy with a touch of food poisoning on the side by all means venture in. By the way when you check the reviews of this place on trip advisor many more had the exact same...

I called in the Eagle for the first time in early December 2023. I really enjoyed it. It was very friendly and welcoming, the people behind the bar were very chatty and as a stranger made me feel very welcome. The beer was very good, although it was a little more expensive than I am used to, but that didn't matter as I had such a great visit. There is plenty of parking, and a disabled space near the front door. There is no food available, there would be a lot of competition locally. It is a proper, friendly traditional English style pub. I will now always visit there when I am in the area. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Eagle to anyone. (It is in...

We (three muddy cyclists) arrived last Sunday after a long ride looking for a few beers and a roast. A lot of pubs are sniffy about cyclists but they couldn't have been more welcoming, they opened up the storeroom so we could stow the bikes and got some cushions from the outdoor furniture for us to sit on so we could sit inside without getting everything muddy.

We had the Sunday roast which was great value for a tenner, generois helpings and really good rare roast beef, very well cooked. The ale was also excellent, clearly well kept and also reasonably priced. Would happily have stayed there all day if we could. Cant recommend...

This pub has just been taken over by the lovely Vicki and Tony. It is so full of olde world charm, with lovely beams and sloping floor. It’s gorgeous, just so quirky! The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the garden is beautiful, with a little wooden bridge going over the river to the cricket pitch. Amazing location.

I love this pub. Very local as opposed to the big one up the road. Very friendly staff and good service. Food menu is not massive but good value, and has something for everyone. The beer garden is lovely, with a nice view over to the cricket pitch across the stream. Definitely worth a visit!

Really nice pub. Friendly staff. Dog friendly. You can enter from the common lane behind it and the main road. Beer was cold. Toby jugs were in evidence. Had a pleasant pint out in the beer garden and a good time was had by all. Even the dog impersonating a bird.
