From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the experience was nothing short of remarkable. The service was exemplary – attentive, yet unobtrusive, and every staff member seemed genuinely dedicated to ensuring our meal was enjoyable. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The tasteful decor and ambient lighting created an inviting environment that enhanced our dining experience. As for the food, it was a culinary delight. The 6oz burger was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, with every bite leaving us wanting more. But the real star of the evening was the Cajun hake accompanied by soft stem broccoli. The hake was seasoned masterfully, with the Cajun spices complementing the fish's natural flavors without overpowering them. The broccoli was a fresh, vibrant side that completed the dish beautifully. The vine selection wasn't impressive, but where selection is lacking it usually compensates in quality and the sweet Zinfandel we chose was exquisite. It paired wonderfully with our meals, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. In summary, this restaurant exceeded all our expectations in terms of service, atmosphere, and food quality. It's a gem that we'll be returning to and recommending to friends and family. A well-deserved five-star rating!

🌟 Food Review: The Fisherman’s Arms, Newlyn 🌟 We had the absolute pleasure of enjoying a roast dinner at The Fisherman’s Arms in Newlyn, and I can confidently say—it was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we walked in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere set the tone. The roast dinner was perfection—generous portions of beautifully cooked meat, crisp-yet-fluffy roast potatoes, vibrant seasonal vegetables, and rich, silky gravy that tied everything together. Every bite was comforting, full of flavour, and clearly crafted with care. But what truly elevates this place is the setting. The views are breathtaking—you can gaze out over the harbor and coastline while enjoying your meal, making the entire experience feel special and uniquely Cornish. Whether you’re local or just visiting, I highly recommend making a stop here. Amazing food, stunning views, and a proper warm pub vibe—The Fisherman’s Arms is a gem. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ll definitely be back! Thanks to Lewis All the best Mr Mitchell

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere!! Perfect date night location! The staff were accomodating and accepted our last minute reservation. Plenty of seating options, both indoor, outdoor and on both levels. The burger was well worth every penny, the succulent meat and decent portion of fries. We got 3 sides to share, and the chorizo one was the highlight. The grilled peach halloumi salad was a tad on the oily side, but you can taste the earthy notes of the olive oil (great if you have a bread to share). The camembert was amazing, but probably too rich just for 2 people. Decent selection of brew and cocktails. We were well impressed with the interior deco and lights, very cosy. The second storey overlooked the Newlyn habour and it was just stunning to be overlooking the Penzance nightscape.

We visit the area every year trying nice eatery venues but unfortunately this place well and truly under delivered.

It all started when the food came to our table, then after some time waiting for the remainder of our meals to arrive they were taken away from us. Informing another table had ordered 'exactly' the same as us, hmmmm - there was five us, one child - exactly the same?

Small apology made, then after a considerable amount of time our food came to us, which we all thought had been sat under the hot plate as it didn't seem freshly cooked. We informed the waitress about this asking to pass the message onto the duty manager and more so the expensive craw fish which was incredibly chewy. No sign of them at all as we were upstairs and suppose out of the way to make any further comment.

When coming to pay, we mentioned it again at the bar and nothing was said, not even an apology but happily took the money before we headed out.

Such a shame we were treated in this manner as the place is nice inside with lovely views. The staff need to care more about...

Street parking only, not handicap accessible. In a nice location. We went there in Father’s Day. We were seated upstairs. There was a large party also seated in the middle of the room. This party was extremely loud and obnoxious. Children had noise making toys which were frequently used. There was also a dog who was barking, upon anyone coming up the stairs. The room had low ceilings so noise was trapped. The food took a longer time to prepare, but it was busy, unfortunately we were unable to enjoy any reasonable conversation at our table as it was drown out. I went and asked for the manager and he did take some time with me but was unsympathetic. He stated it was Father’s Day and he was pleased that the other party was enjoying themselves. I told the manager I was not pleased with his response, but he did not seem to mind. We weren’t the only party upstairs, there were several couples who just sat there and stared at each other. Noise is one thing, excessive noise and not thinking of those around you is...
