The Fountain — Restaurant in England

Had dinner friday. My partner had the loaded fries no jalapeños. Came but the meat was very dry and hardly any bbq sauce. Went sunday about 3pm for sunday dinner. I had beef my partner had the last turkey. The carrot that was with it was very hard. The roast potatoes were difficult to cut as they appeared overcooked or had been standing too long. The side dish of cauliflower cheese had been reheated as it was stuck to the side of the dish. The turkey dinner was missing the pigs? In blankets. When it came after asking for it we had finished the meal and it was just the 1. The cutlery appears blunt as it would hardly cut through the over or undercooked food including struggling to cut the beef. Came to take plates away without asking how was the meal or just picking the plates up. Not even asking if we had finished. Overall disappointed as have been in many times. Just seems to be going a bit backwards mealwise as used to be...

Visited for food today as it is the start of the summer holidays, I have previously reviewed the fountain for drinks but wanted to update following today's trip.

Firstly the menu is a very good size which doesn't have an overwhelming choice, there's well proportioned brunch, lunch, bar food and lite bites sections. I went for a vegetarian spiced falafel burger and my stepson chose the sweet chilli chicken burger. Service was super fast and the meals were well presented with a good amount of coleslaw and fries. The food was perfect, well cooked and the dressing / sauce on both burgers was amazing. Service was great with very friendly staff at all points from ordering to table service. The other meals being sent to other tables all looked amazing.

We eat and drink in the fountain regularly. (Big group, always space if you book ahead of time… the team will always accommodate) Great selection of beers both from bollington brewery and a number of guest beers. Nice cocktail menu the espresso martini is particularly tastey. Food is always quick and tastes great the prices are worth it as the portions are massive and the ingredients are quality. Would recommend the Bolly burger, loaded fries and they have just introduced a fountain dog! So good Service is quick and friendly, always have plenty of bar staff on. There’s never a wait at the bar and the team are so friendly. Really nice place to eat and drink, love the interior, although can be a little loud at peak times… but then isn’t every successful/busy bar? Thanks the fountain team, see...
