The Jolly Sailor — Restaurant in England

Four of us have just had a two course Sunday lunch, nice quality meat we had the lamb beef & pork between us all with roast carrot potatoes & crispy parsnip strips & a bowl of cauliflower cheese on the side, followed by homemade chocolate & hazelnut cheesecake with raspberry coulis & ice cream, and apple tart with custard very reasonable at £12 a head. Updated. My first review for here was over 7 years ago when I gave it 5 stars. For a while now it hasn't been clear what was happening with it (unusual opening hours etc) and I hadn't been in for quite a long time.

I'm glad to report that it's future seems secure as it has been taken on by new management and it's a great new team keeping regular opening hours and great staff.

Still the same great beers and friendly environment. Even the stale tobacco smells that always seemed to linger under the previous management have...

On a mission as a young pub crawler to explore the extent of Bass in pubs around the country. Popped in here while I was in Macclesfield. Good cool pint of Bass, much appreciated in the current hot weather we’re getting. Pub itself has plenty of decor and interesting furnishings to satisfy any pub crawler!
