Booked a table on a Sunday for 5pm (Sunday roast). Table wasn't ready for us when we turned up and there was only 2 other tables taken. Ordered a 2 course meal each for 5 of us. Starters was very good but the main (roast dinner) didn't actually turn up after 1 hour of waiting. We asked about the mains and there was alot of confused faces in the kitchen, a member of staff approached up being very apologetic and said the food will be on the house 😂. So the mains appeared on our table eventually for us to be told that they don't actually have any roast potatoes 😂🤣. Along with flame grilled chicken (instead of roasted half chicken), tescos finest green beans from next door, a burnt Yorkshire pudding, 2 carrots, red cabbage and a plate of gastro chips. It was very disappointing but also comical from how drunk I was from waiting for the food. Yes we had it for free but I think I would rather pay for a proper roast then get given a plate of processed food of a small furtune.
Perhaps il go to the lamb Inn...
Read moreReally really disappointing. 2 meals came out wrong, which they did correct straight away. The other 2 were different to what was described on the menu - so whether that's a printing error or a new menu that hasn't been updated in the kitchen yet I don't know. Really limited on vegetarian choices, you have falafel, falafel or gnocchi. I thought I'd try the falafel (as it was on there twice) was different to how the menu described it and I needed a pint of water to eat half of it as it seemed as it was incredibly salty. I don't know if someone knocked over the bottle of salt in the kitchen or if it comes that way but i couldn't stomach it. To be fair to the staff they didn't charge for that meal, and the waiter/waitress were lovely. But it was an underwhelming visit. We last visited in the summer and had really enjoyed it, this time we were left feeling cold from the draught and disappointed with the food. Its unlikely we'll go back, unless they change...
Read moreVery disappointed. From the table and welcome it began badly. Food was on a par with a cheap pub grub. Ordered prawns and chicken skewers as starters. Prawns were overcooked and lacked taste. As for the chicken "skewers" weren't skewers just small breast fillets with just enough satay. Tasty enough but in no way what I expected. This was the tastiest part of the meal. Main course of Ghoulash which was bland, and the sauce very watery. The butterfly chicken again tasted ok on its own however a large slice of processed cheese and extremely sweet bbq sauce ruined a nice piece of chicken. Chips were nice!... We were offered a free Eton mess as an apology, again disappointed by shop bought meringues and what can only be described as tinned strawberries. Servers were great and very apologetic. Summary is its pub food...
