Extremely poor service and food. Would not recommend. The pub/restaurant is run by a group of very young people and it came across as very disorganised and make-shift. I believe they need to receive more service and hospitality training as these areas were lacking.

We booked a table in advance, yet when we were seated we were put right next to the very busy and noisy bar area in which a que constantly formed right next to our table during the time we were there. There were many other tables available away from the busy bar area yet we were not moved. It would've been complete common sense to move us to a quieter area of the restaurant as anyone could clearly see we were extremely uncomfortable. I'm not sure as to why that table would be offered to anyone who is dinning in.

Putting that aside the food itself was to an extremely low standard. We order 2 margarita pizza's and a chicken burger for our main meals. The pizza's were undercooked and sloppy. Covered in normal mature cheddar cheese as opposed to Mozzarella and undercooked tomato paste, making them have a weird taste and were simular to a frozen pizza you can put in the oven at home. Normally I wouldn't bother complaining but considering the fact that they cost an extortionate price of £15.50 each!!! I feel like something has to be said.

The chicken burger on the other hand was very overcooked. Giving it a burnt taste as well as being chewing. The flavour of the chicken was bland and you would've been better off with Birds Eye chicken burgers from the supermarket. Again, this cost £15.95.

I would not recommend visiting this pub for food. You won't get proper restaurant service and they don't take good care of you as customers. Your almost rushed in to be seated, rushed to order and rushed out the door again. The food was very poor. We wouldn't have minded at all with it being a busy pub but due to the ridiculous prices, especially in this day and age, you would expect more and better than what we received. If you are just going for some drinks then it's not a problem but wouldn't recommend if you are looking to get some food.

The best part is the location but...

Massively disappointed tonight, I've eaten here a few times and enjoyed it, but tonight was absolutely shocking! we walked in and asked if we could eat inside (as we sat down outside on arrival) the waitress said yes, so we sat down inside with our menu's (that we had to sauce ourselves). My other half got us a drink from the bar as the waitress just walked off, every single waitress/ waiter just walked/ rushed passed us, the staff looked fed up, miserable and really not welcoming, to the point I felt like a burden just being there, not 1 person looked at us or came over to us, we sat waiting, looking around waiting to make some kind of eye contact with the staff, but nothing, at this point we had finished our drinks, we felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome, never in my life have I gone to a restaurant and felt that unwelcome. We decided to leave as the atmosphere was sour and still nobody had come over or even looked at us, we stood up to leave and as we walked towards the door the 3 staff members that was behind the bar watched us (this was the first and only time any of the staff made any kind of contact/ eye contact with us) the look we got was bitter and we just couldn't wait to get out, if looks could kill, well I would definitely be dead! I'm still in shock now at how poor and miserable our experience was, I'm beyond disappointed, sat waiting for over 20 for someone to even look at us is disgusting, I've never experienced anything like what happened tonight, I've never been made to feel that uncomfortable, the vibe and energy from the staff was appalling, I felt depressed leaving like I had done something wrong, I only wanted the basics after a long day at work... a meal and some kind of service, I mean even a smile would of been nice, I'm just glad we left and went to our local curry house where the service and staff was outstanding, its ashame we didn't...

We come for a family meal, pre booked and we’re not happy with the service at all. I understand it was a hot summers day and things can get overwhelming but we would’ve appreciated more communication from the servers. When we got there we were told we were sat on this table, there were no cutlery or food mats on the table but there seemed to be on the other tables. There were wasps around the table we were sitting on which wasn’t the best either. It took an hour and a half for our food to come - there was no communication from the servers that the food would take this long and we asked if we could move into the other room as there were no customers in there and the wasps were really irritating. We were told we couldn’t move as the tables were booked out but for the whole time we were there and to the time that we left, there were no bookings that arrived in that room. Our server was Keeley and I was not impressed with her attitude at all, pulling faces when I was discussing my concerns, no apology and walked off in the middle of the conversation! Absolutely disgusting customer service and very rude. One of my family members ordered the steak, medium rare, and for £25.95 and taking an hour and a half to cook, the steak turned up well done. Thankfully another server put a discount on the bill for this which we appreciated and she listened to our concerns and apologised but the experience as a whole was very disappointing and we will not be retuning here again. I believe Keeley needs some customer service training and to understand how to talk to customers as I was extremely shocked by her behaviour - she shouldn’t be working in customer service with...

Recently we went to the half moon. For a bite to eat and enjoy the tranquillity of the place situated by the river seven. It is an ideal place to sit and soak the rays while listening to the moving water. The bar staff are lovely and friendly and welcoming. We ordered food and waited for the table to be cleaned from the last guests. This never happened. Seeing they were busy, we just moved it to the edge of the table, hoping that surely someone would be over. 1 set of cutlery for 2 people. I ordered a chicken burger with sides, looked lovely on the menu, and had a double burger with sides. I watched all these beautiful meals been brought out of the kitchen, anticipating our meal. When it arrived, the gentleman placed my husband down, and mine and I were in awe. The presentation was the poorest I have seen. I returned it straight away, explaining the reason why. 5 minutes later, my meal was returned . All they did was put a piece of red and white paper and put the chips in a basket. As I was in eye sight of the kitchen, I could see how staff were waiting around for orders to be sent out. I feel the staff on the bar were lovely, but the food presentation is not the best. All customers should be treated the same. It shouldn't matter if it is busy or not. No exceptions. It's a shame as the pub came highly rated by friends.

Went on a hot summers day, fantastic location, right on the River Severn with beautiful surroundings. The food was phenomenal but not cheap, the beers and cider choice was great! Loved that part of my visit... However, because of how busy it was the service completely let the place down. Multiple orders were incorrect and young bar staff / waiting service apologetic. For example on of our large group waited over 30 minutes for one drink, while those that ordered later were delivered theirs on neighbouring tables. With better management, the Half Moon near Ironbridge, Shropshire would literally be untouchable, especially in the summer months. #carleasingguy definitely recommends a visit, and I hope the owners / managers take note, maybe put a plan in place for table service outside? Just an idea.

Absolutely bliss meal at the Half Moon Inn. We were seated promptly, even though we had not booked on a busy Friday evening they were able to accommodate myself and my family. We ordered three children's meals and two adult mains, all came out hot and the chips were just devine. Crispy outside and fluffy in the middle. I couldn't fault this place at all, such friendly staff. We then came back a few days after and sat outside just for drinks, it's table service only. It took a while for them to come over but they did eventually and all drinks were spot on. Were not usually one to take our children out for food or even just a drink, but this place made us feel very comfortable. Thanks very much for helping make our staycation that bit more magical
