First off the drink, they have a good selection of drinks including several local ales, and some guests. Not only is there a good selection, but they are well priced, and are probably some of the cheapest in town!
The food here is great. It is mainly "pub style" food, but at resturant quality. I have eaten here four times now, and have never been disappointed. All the food is good, but you have got to try the fresh handmade pies (Steak and Ale my favourite). The steak is the best I've had in the U.K! On top of that, the food is really well priced at about average pub food price (but far superior quality). You can see the food being prepaired through a window in the kitchen door.
I dont know how they do the stuff they do for the prices they charge!
The only negative thing I can think of is the noise level (people not music), its tolerable during the week, but rather noisey at the weekends (to be expected really), I would still drink here...

OK, there's been a bit of a development since I wrote this review. On the 20th June,I went in there for about 4 pints and on my last pint of fosters it cost £7.10 and the going rate is £4.10.( I have my bank statement to prove this). Obviously, this might be a genuine mistake ( I would hate to think otherwise). I use a PDQ machine at work which stands for: processing data quickly, and you have to be careful to what you put in. Now £3 isn't a lot of money, so I'm not going to make a fuss, but this sort of carelessness will cost you business. I'm not implying anything here, but if the staff are drinking at work then maybe they should think about not doing so. I'll be happy to show you the transaction online and maybe a complimentary drink might be appropriate. To be honest, it's made think twice before...
