Very variable - food can be excellent occasionally, mostly it is OK considering the price but sometimes it is terrible and you get the impression it was prepared and plated up by people who just don't care about what they serve to their customers - wilted brown lettuce in the salad, shrivelled up dried out jacket potatoes, soggy cold miniscule onion rings, a mushroom no bigger than a 1 pence piece etc. Plates are never hot, normally luke warm if you are lucky - in fact this is the worst site for cold plates out of all the ones we have visited? At least you can invariably get a decent pint of real ale for a modest outlay although it is very rare for any of the bar staff to ever check the cleanliness of the glass before they poor the wine or pull a pint into it. I have on several occasions asked them to stop and find a clean glass as I could see from my side of the bar that it was not clean. Has a nice new garden area and they must have spent a fortune on raised beds, planters, trees, shrubs and seating etc. but they could obviously not afford some sort of rain protection over the designated smoking area unlike the majority of other hostelrys? To put this all in perspective I realise their products are prepared and constrained by the lower cost requirement of lots of bums on seats and high turnover so in no way do I expect fine dining BUT I do expect appetising hot food, as described in the menu, served on a hot plate with my drink in a clean glass as a minimum. Unfortunately this is not often achieved at this site but it is fairly local, easy to park, reasonable value so we frequent quite often as we can go out 2 or even 3 nights a week for a meal and a pint instead of a single visit to some other venue.

I visited Lantokey recently with a friend and before with my family as well. It’s conveniently placed on the Street high street with a parking lot available in the back ( accessed via a path). Having come from far away, I found it a nice place to stop for breakfast on our way to Glastonbury where we were visiting. It is only a few minutes’ drive away and the closest Wetherspoon we have found in the vicinity. We liked the cozy feel of this pub and a sense of spaciousness with nice big windows to the front if you want to watch the world go by as you eat. The main downside seems to be that we can never connect to the WiFi there or use mobile data inside the restaurant, so needed to go to the bar to order. Not a problem for us personally, but worth a mention. Food arrived promptly and was well cooked. Spotted some lovely art on our way to the palatial bathroom located upstairs which added to the overall pleasant vibe. Will definitely be back when opportunity arises again. :)

So disappointed. We chose spoons as u can’t really go wrong...how wrong was I! After a long drive to Glastonbury we ventured to this spoons. Table wasn’t cleared or cleaned. I asked if we cd sit and the girl wasn’t very forthcoming or friendly, another customer offered me a menu as girl didn’t. We had an hour wait for food (but were told). My steak and potato was literally just that. No salad/garnish. No butter for the potato. (I had to ask) I got up and fetched my own sauce(that I cd find). The steak was gristly and chewy...I choked it down as I was hungrey. My mums curry arrived with greasy popodoms and a greasy naan, a small amount of rice and a luke warm bowl of curry. No-one checked if we were happy with our meal, unlike my local spoons. Felt like we were avoided. Used menus were left piled on the table next to us and left. Should hv complained whilst in there but after the long wait I just wanted to eat what we cd b4 the long journey home. A big shake ups needed!

The steak was appaling meant to be sirloin hard as a boot The boy i spoke to at the bar said i would get a drink free i ordered apple juice then i went back to change the table number as the table was appaling with alcohol spilt all over it! when i approached the bar i told him the number but he seemed too busy serving other people and left me until last i complained about the steak and 45 minutes later got another one that was undercooked and rare the last one i ate because i was literally starving i had a steak same Sirloin 1 month ago and it was lovely the atmosphere is nice in the pub and friendly but kids dont know how to cook a steak! Simple as that!!! I even told the boy in the silver waistcoat how to do it the secret with any steak is to keep turning it then he said it was cooked on a charcoal burner whatever if you watch a Turkish man in a kebbab shop you can see that man turning the kofta over and over and stabbing it with a utensil its obvious They cant get staff of proper chefs.....Show me a 16-18 year old who can cook a steak it was probably not defrosted either.....Waste of £13.... never again i think customers should be able to have free samples of the food cooked a lot of elderly people who frequent the place do not...

"Went in for a meal, 30-01-22" We had to use TWO wet-wipes to get our table cleaned. Not one member of staff cleaned any table when it became vacant, whilst we were there. Absolutely disgusting the amount of mess everywhere. So much for putting its customers health first. Have they not heard of Covid or food poisoning! Some table’s had dirty napkins on them, probably used by customer’s to wipe their mouths/nose area but nobody cleaned those tables. Money first and customers health second. One person accidentally dropped a napkin and it fell onto the middle of a walk way, approximately nine members of staff walked over it. Not one of them picked it up. Did I complain to the manager, no I didn’t because if he could not see the state of this establishment, then I would be wasting my time. I will not be going back there, I care about my health. Here's a question for all the people who eat at this establishment : If the dining area is so dirty/unhealthy, then what are the kitchens like? The area you can't see, where they prepare food. This sort of company will be looking for sympathy if it has to shut down. Good luck with that😒 PLEASE NOTE : NONE OF THESE REVIEWS EVER GET AN APOLOGY FROM...
