Hilarious meal here, both of the wait staff seemed harried and not overly keen on customer service, ordering felt slightly like a chore and not much facial response when engaging. When the food arrived, my partners pasta was served in a long handled small frying pan?! Very odd choice for pasta, plus it seemed to have leeched all of the heat out of the food ... my calzone/pizza mashup sounded interesting and was fairly decent except the calzone part filling was akin to a croque monsieur... not overly busy, so strange having to wait for service when ordering our coffees, the waitress seemed to actively ignore the fact we wanted the espresso corretto, which was supposed to have sambuca in and when we received the espressos they were the smallest single espressos I think we've ever seen. Sweets were OK, I felt the supposed home made pannacotta was a touch rubbery and the chocolate souffle I ordered did not resemble a souffle in any way shape or form, that said it did taste good, when I mentioned the dessert was not what I expected the waitress seemed baffled as if I didn't know what a souffle was ?! (I've been a catering professional for a number of years) europop music was awful, given the fine fettle in which the actual Italian chefs voices were in. Weird vibes altogether definite room for improvement across the board. I know working on a Sunday in a quiet town can be rubbish, but you chose to work there, so maybe cheer the f up and engage with your customers? Maybe pay attention to what they order and double-check that you've taken the order correctly? I mean, you must know you don't give a toss when you actively point out that the "service charge" is optional. "Service charge" is a tip, and nothing here warranted that not even rounding up to the...
Read moreWe came in to your restaurant on Tuesday 20th with our twin Grandchildren. Coming to Tamborinos has always been their absolute favourite thing to do. They choose it every year on the birthday and we have always has such a great evening! The Italian lady that worked there for years and the younger man always made them feel so welcome (and us) We bring them in the summer holidays too and they were so excited about coming. I can’t tell you how disappointed we were. I was shocked that you didn’t make any effort to welcome them, you didn’t actually make any contact with them or us apart from asking what we were having. Our granddaughters children’s Carbonara came out with penne instead of pasta but when you corrected it and bought it back after 10 minutes you just chucked it in front of her and said nothing at all. My husband’s pizza came out when the rest of us had almost finished our meals. There was no apology for the delay either! We are locals and have been to your restaurant dozens of times and always had such a lovely experience but this was certainly not at all like the other times. I appreciate that you’re all so busy but we are used to your staff being so kind and friendly and welcoming. The young staff you have now clearly don’t have the experience yet in customer relations but they were certainly more friendly than you were. The fact that it was the manager who dealt mostly with us made it even worse. You didn’t smile once. I thought I should tell you as it was such a shock to us, especially regarding the little ones. The fact that my husband had to eat after us wasn’t acceptable either. There wasn’t even an...
Read moreEdit: Finally on thr third visit resisted the nibbles and multiple starters to try the dessert menu (a semifredo) and can only say it affirms my belief few things are as reliable as homemade Italian desserts.
Amazing Italian food with great service!
Visited during a trip to Clarks Village, found by random but but a real gem with nice ambience and friendly, fast service
We shared a starter of the antipasto misto which was varied and all extremely tasty, the funghi alto adige was new to me and a highlight on a plate of highlights, a flat mushroom with smoked cheese and speck on top. Special mention too for the homemade tartar sauce with the calamari.
Main was the special of Rana Pescatrice which was a generously heaped plate of monkfish, mussels, king prawns and calamari in a chilli and tomato sauce. All the seafood was brilliantly cooked and the sauce had just the right amount of kick without overpowering any of the fish.
Worth every penny as we left absolutely stuffed... which was the only bad part, the awful tease that was a beautiful looking dessert menu full of homemade Italian desserts all calling my name like a chocolate coated siren, and knowing I hadnt even got room for gelato.
Next time there WILL be dessert. It would be criminal to...
