Great selection of real ales and gins combined with knowledgeable staff. I was surprised they didn't have lemonade to make a shandy, or bitter lemon to make a spritzer for my wife, who isn't into real ale. Apart from that, everything was wonderful until I was undecided which ale to try for my third pint. I usually like darker ales, and I had already had the stout which, as described, was very chocolatey (perhaps too much so) and the bitter. I was a bit concerned that the light ale, which was described as citrus, might be also too much so, so I asked for a wee taste, only to be met with an abject refusal. Up to that point, my experience had been very friendly, but the staff were adamant that there would be no tasting. This completely soured the experience for me, to the extent that I didn't buy another pint, and left as soon as my companions had finished their drinks. Sadly, I will...

Love coming here, me and my boyfriend visit with out dog when I'm up to visit and we always we make time to visit the little ale house. One of our favourite pubs in the country and maybe out dogs absolute favourites. We frequently struggle to get a table because it busy but somebody frequently offers up spare chairs. We do actually really enjoy sitting down in the cosy cellar. Beer always great, love their own and trying others. Staff always, always friendly, and so warm and welcoming. I'd be gutted if my boyfriend moves away, if we did I'd have to come back just for the...

I took a picture of this pub but it really doesn't do it justice (there are plenty of the exterior and interior already tbh). We went to most of the craft beer pubs in Harrogate but this was the pick of the lot. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff at the bar. Great selection of cask and keg beer. The pub itself is in amazing condition, looks like they have spent a lot of time and money refurbishing it. There's a courtyard at the rear and a patio area at the front. We were only passing through but you'd be very lucky to have this pub on...

This ia a real gem of an alehouse. I don't go to pubs anymore - I much prefer a latte these days. But today I really fancied an ale as it was my birthday recently but it was midweek so I thought I'd treat myself today. So I googled pubs in Harrogate (I'm not from there) and this one came as highly recommended. And so right they were. I went around 12.30p on a Saturday amd the real fire was lit, there was a lit candle on each table, no music playing, no TV. Bliss! Great service and a fab dark beer. I cannot recommend it enough. Fabulous!

To use a well worn cliche, it does what it says on the tin. The Little Ale House is (unsurprisingly) small but has charm, this is a cozy place that wears its age on its sleeve. The beer selection (also unsurprisingly) is solid. Clearly it has its fans too, we arrived 30 minutes after it opened to find every seat with a bottom on it - it’s a well heeled crowd too, but then again this is Harrogate. Recommended…..if you can squeeze in.
