Went to The Lodge this evening for our tea ( 2 adults 2 children). As soon as we walked into the bar, we were greeted with a huge smile and hello from the guy behind the bar. This is so rare these days. We have been served by some ridiculously rude, ignorant and unhappy staff so this was our first box ticked. We were very lucky to be offered a chance to eat on the house, as their photographers were in & wanted to take some promo pictures. Obviously we gratefully accepted but said we would pay for our drinks as free meals were a bonus! We ordered the chicken lickin platter to share, a chicken katsu curry, and childs chicken burger meal. There is nothing bad about any of it for me to comment on. The food was absolutely stunning. The chips were fresh, everything was hot and tasty! Have a very fussy partner who loved his curry! Very generous portions, lots of garnish and seasoned well. The presentation was beautiful clean and top notch. This place has lovely decor and seating, the staff are perfect from start to finish, asking if our meal was okay and thanking us for taking part in their photo shoot. The only thing I could grumble at was that it was a rainy day and I imagine sitting on the veranda overlooking the sun set on the sea would of made it even better. That's no fault of the restaurants though lol. Thankyou for a great meal and service! Will be back again...
Read moreWe spotted this pub as we passed on the way to Bridlington and it looked lovely with a large car park for the Motorhome. It was important to me to be able to see the Motorhome as we had puppies in it. We sat down at a lovely table in the garden and waited and waited .. in the end I went to order drinks but was told we would be served at the table .. so we waited and waited ! I went back in and asked if someone could serve us .. I was then told they weren’t serving food or drinks to the garden tables just off the slabbed area .. we asked why as we needed to keep an eye on the Motorhome and what with covid wasn’t it better for us to be further away from other people ? The lady who served us was really abrupt saying they had all the covid measures in place .. yes they did but why couldn’t we eat and drink in the garden ?! Didn’t make sense to us and there were no signs or any staff who mentioned this to us .. we had waited patiently for half an hour. It’s a shame because it’s a lovely pub and the food was “ok” I certainly would not...
Read moreIncredible hidden gem in Bridlington. They have a secret ability to serve gluten free food to an extent. Most staff were knowledgeable. The person in charge was able to facilitate something for our daughter. The atmosphere is nice may be light music and the screens to be on. The floor and table was clean. Menus clean but hard to read! May be reprint, I will happily print and laminate for free.
The food was fantastic, with myself having dirty Fries with cheese sauce and mince (it's a dish). Pleasantly tasty and flavours great. My daughters gluten free burger hit the spot! You can smell the brioche buns warmed up buttery smell. My son had a cracking Piri Piri Wrap.that flowed in taste and served with piri piri chips.just a great blend.
Great scene to look out.
Only negatives was staff, just need smiles, a little more.about gluten free options rather than just give us a folder to look through, and may be not have Fake tan leaking on...
