We came in for lunch and to escape the rain, but when we left, it was warm of body and of soul. The people who run this cafe go above and beyond to make the visit pleasant. They want to get you seated in the best spot, have a friendly and encouraging attitude and great food to boot. When we arrived, Don welcomed us to our table by name and couldn't be more helpful. In addition to the printed café menu there was a comprehensive array of specials boards which were fully explained. The vegetables were particularly well cooked and the meal portions were generous; lashings of gravy! All the staff were very pleasant. We noticed that Don had to politely disappoint several potential customers during our visit, as all tables were taken. This is not a large café so be sure to book in advance. Most of our fellow dinners were locals who knew each other. That's a good...
