Found this gem of a café through Google maps and Facebook. Called to make a booking. The lady was warm and welcoming and accommodated our request for Sunday lunch. When we arrived, Don welcomed us to our table by name and couldn't be more helpful. In addition to the printed café menu there was a comprehensive array of specials boards which were fully explained. The vegetables were particularly well cooked and the meal portions were generous; lashings of gravy! All the staff were very pleasant. We noticed that Don had to politely disappoint several potential customers during our visit, as all tables were taken. This is not a large café so be sure to book in advance. Most of our fellow dinners were locals who knew each other. That's a good recommendation in itself.

A lovely little gem in Pateley Bridge! We live nearby, and The Old Granary is one of our favourite spots. It’s always a pleasure to pop in – the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are genuinely friendly. The food is proper home-cooked, delicious and generous, and it always feels like great value for money. It’s also dog friendly, which is a big plus for us – Lucifer our Doberman absolutely loves it there! It’s become his favourite place for a treat (and some fuss from the lovely team). A perfect stop in the village – whether you’re a local or just passing through, we highly recommend it! 5*

Proper lovely place! The service was just amazing, our full English breakfasts (one veggie, one standard) were excellent, and the atmosphere in there was just so friendly and warming! Couldn't recommend enough! It's not huge so timing is key to get a table, or get a reservation in to avoid disappointment ☺️

We came in for lunch and to escape the rain, but when we left, it was warm of body and of soul. The people who run this cafe go above and beyond to make the visit pleasant. They want to get you seated in the best spot, have a friendly and encouraging attitude and great food to boot. The meals were delicious and portions very generous (by 'large' Yorkshire pudding, they meant large - it was plate sized). The two of us shared a pudding and they even served it to us cut in half in 2 separate bowls "to avoid squabbles" with an extra scoop of ice cream. You could have as many hot water refills and milk for a pot of tea as you liked. A pot of tea was only £1.60. The food was very reasonably priced as well, especially considering the portions. They were dog friendly and very helpful with filling up the dog bowl. It is sad that I don't live in Pately Bridge, as I would be here...

The new management are great. Karen and don are friendly welcoming and the staff are welcoming freindly and will do all they can to make your visit flawless. Dogs are welcome and family freindly. Large parties are also welcome. So contact to the granary for homecooked meals and homecooked cakes scones and a variety of teas coffee soft drinks and fizzy drinks. Pateley Bridge is a beautiful village with quaint shops the oldest sweetshop in the UK. Walkers cyclist bikers are more than welcome. Well I'm back. We now have one course Christmas dinner. Two course Christmas dinner. Three course Christmas dinner. Come and enjoy. Of course there is gluten free options. Come and celebrate Christmas with Karen and Don and their welcoming staff. We had the two course dinner. Turkey with all the trimmings and Christmas pudding. It...
