The Pasta Shop Darlington — Restaurant in England

Visited her for the first time today for a lunchtime treat and I was not impressed by the food or service. I viewed the online menu via the website prior to arriving choosing to order the veggie option "Roasted vegetables". When ordering there seemed to be confusion about which pasta i wanted even though i was asking for a item listed on there own menu ?? On eating this i was really disappointed to say the least. I found it to be very bland and in no way was it roasted vegetables. I expected as described as authentic dish ,that the simple pasta would be lifted by a great depth of flavour unfortunately not. It had a few pieces of nearly raw pepper and red onion mixed through it such a disapointment. I wont be returning which is a shame as believe there is a gap in the market in Darlington for the experience of a true authentic italian...

Called in to get some lunch, oh my goodness what a gorgeous little shop! An absolutely fantastic selection of different pasta dishes with changing weekly specials, options for vegetarians, fabulous selection of tray bakes that are literally irresistible, I ordered a coffee which was absolutely delicious and there is such a selection of various Italian snacks and drinks!!! I must say this is the best take out pasta I've ever had it's SO tasty and fresh! Like a little holiday in a pasta shop! Stopped into the Pasta Shop this afternoon spontaneously. The staff were friendly and the specials looked great - I went for Ottolenghi sausage and fennel and it was absolutely beautiful. I can cook a lot of Italian food so my standards for pasta are high, and this more than surpassed them. It was perfectly seasoned and the flavours were incredible. You can tell they use high quality ingredients.

Special shout out to Jack, the lovely 15 year old work experience student who was doing a grand job; I had a nice chat with him while waiting. He's clearly a bright young lad who will go far!
