Popped in with my husband while walking past to have a look as we weren't aware that the Queen's Head on Broad Green had reopened after refurbishment. I'd never been inside before though it had been my grandfather's watering hole for many years until he died in 1970. Anyway it's a cosy, authentic local serving a good range of drinks with plans for food too when the new kitchen is installed and up and running. The decor is clean and in some cases (curtains, carpet, some upholstery) new, in a traditional style with vintage photos and pictures on the wall as well as other decorative effects such as old bottles and flagons. Also has a Bar Billiards table and a few folks who can give you a very challenging game. Really enjoy my visits here. Modest selection of beer BUT kept superbly. The landlord keeps his lines clean and takes pride in providing an excellent pint.
Always know you will get a really good ale if you come here.
