Castello Lounge — Restaurant in England

My first and last visit. I visit many cafes in and around Wellingborough and Northants. Very disappointed by the food and the coffee. Firstly clean table and friendly staff. I ordered a black coffee and a bacon sandwich. Coffee tasted awful, the quality is the worst I have tasted. The bacon sandwich was again the worst I have ever had anywhere(see photos before and after). I was given a bacon fat sandwich with half a slice of bacon in one half. The young service guy came over and I told him no way was I eating that and he took it away. The second sandwich arrived., and again half a slice of bacon just bacon well done and again not best quality. Drank a third of the coffee and half a sandwich. Overpriced poor quality food. Only popped in to try today because the best cafe in town was packed and I was starving. The Rice Krispies hit the spot when I got home. So, just doing an update - as you can see had a reply from Costello`s with regard to my poor experience, and they asked me questions, which i took the time to reply out of courtesy and was wiling to go back and re-review, but after taking the time to reply, i have had nothing from them, so the management team is as poor as the food they serve. I organised a meal and reserved a table for 18-19 people at castello lounge. The staff were accommodating and pleasant throughout although they don’t respond to their emails and this made arranging this a bit difficult.

When we were there the food was nice and it all came out together nice and hot. As we pre ordered, they had the names of who had ordered what, so they called out names when they brought the food out and this made it a lot easier.

The drink service was also at a good pace.

I am used to paying on the app before getting my food, then walking out when I’m finished here. This usually works out well. Unfortunately I did forget that we hadn’t done that, and we all left without paying!! I then received a call from them asking where we had gone and I realised what I’d done. Thankfully they were understanding and took payment over the phone!

We went for a friend's birthday. The staff were lovely, very accommodating and when we ordered at the bar they brought everything to the table. We were upstairs so this was good! You can also order online so options. The food was excellent, everyone was commenting about how lovely it was. The girl who served us was chatty and helpful. Oh, and there are toilets upstairs and downstairs! The birthday girl was able to bring her own cake too. Music was good but not too loud as I often can't hear what everyone is saying so big tick there. Just loved all the fringed lampshades. Very relaxing atmosphere. I feel the place would and should have been busier but that is Wellingborough's fault - there's nowhere to park and this needs to be changed as I would love to go there again.
