The Railway Tavern — Restaurant in England

I revisited The Railway Tavern on Friday 08 November 2024. . It has been owned by Black Country Ales since August 2020 with 8 real ales and real ciders. The Railway Tavern is now recognised for the quality of its beers by its inclusion in the Camra ( Campaign for Real Ale ) Good Beer Guide .

I had checked on the Real Ale Finder website and was surprised to see a dark real alevon - Elgoods Blackberry Porter - lovely well kept beer for £4.20.

The tables are well spaced out with a variety of low and high...

We'd heard about the pub having a 'scooter, northern soul' theme, and eventually got around to popping in. Was pleasantly surprised to find out that the landlord is an old friend who used to be involved with the scooter scene in Telford. We had a good catch up with each other. The pub is tasteful and comfortable. The drinks prices are very competitive too. We'll definitely...

There is no longer sports there, even the pool table and darts have gone. The music is too loud, you're having to shout to hear each other. It's meant to be a pub not a club. There's no themed music nights, just the same music playing, and the duke box has gone so customers can't even choose what is being played... just not my kind...
