Unbeatable value. For £45 you or I can have a starter plus a main course from the small plates menu. Thats around the same price as a lunch at other local pubs. Except...this is £45 for a whole week, 5 starters and 5 main courses from the small plates menu (basically a business lunch menu). So thats why i am back again today. Cant beat it. And im not being paid to write this, just feel it needs to be put out there as it is fantastic value. Yesterday was liver and bacon, today was chicken breast in cream sauce.both lovely and served by attentive staff. Pate starter both days. absolutely superb both days.

Visited here on way down to Cornwall. Went has had good reviews and is dog friendly. Was worth a visit. Old fashioned pub feel was really nice. Brilliant food even our dog got treated by one of the young ladies and one of the regulars treated her too. I had a delicious burger partner had Sunday dinner beef ummmm.

Fantastic get-together for seven corgis for their first birthday. From Durham, Basingstoke, South Wales - Derby was the perfect central location. Diane and her team couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Food was wonderful and we all had a great time. Going to be an annual event.

I feel like i need to leave this review because we were very let down on my Grandads birthday. The pub It's self is really nice, It's quaint and olde worlde, and It's local to where i grew up so it was first choice for us at the time. The food here massively lets it down, there were just so many issues, we ordered separately but were all together as a family, they knew this as it was very quiet and she came to our table to confirm we were ready to send all the orders. The first problem was every plate came out at separate times over the space of 45 minutes. It didn't even come out per order (eg- my uncle and aunts order or mine and my fellas) secondly, the portion sizes for some of the meals were so small for how expensive the meals are, a curry is about 7.90, that consisted of just the curry, rice and poppadoms/chutney. I paid an extra 1.50 for a nan with samosa and onion bhajis. There was no mango chutney. I was very annoyed I'd paid 9 pounds for a curry, that had less than half a bowl of curry in and a nan bread the size of a mans wallet! yeah! It was tiny and a tiny samosa. I asked the manager what happened to the curry it there was barely anything there and she said they cant do anything about it thats the size they come yet my auntys came out fine. My sister in laws and nephews chips came out un cooked, she left them. Eggs and mushrooms were missing from my boyfriends meal. And lastly after we had all eaten my uncle still sat waiting for his, he didn't want to bother them so i went up again and they hadn't even put the order through, he sat there 15 mins later eaten on his own. It was just a mess and you felt like you were a problem to some of the staff. One girl was really friendly and helpful but all she could do was ask the manager as she had no authority. I understand chefs are put under pressure but, you pay for a service, and the price of the meals were just not worth it, the quality and potion sizes were bad. We left really...

Very poor food and service. I was part of a group of 35 or so for a pre-booked and pre-ordered meal. We arrived 4.30, the time agreed. The last members of the party were not served until 7oclock! A number of diners including my wife had ordered lamb shank. Hers was red raw inside, she sent it back, and I know several people sent theirs back too. The Red Cow management had received the pre order some 3 weeks before, so there is no excuse for not having enough properly cooked lamb shanks. The meals were awful. My Turkey meal had rock hard roast potatoes and virtually uncooked slivers of carrot and parsnip. Many diners said the same.Even the Christmas pudding was substandard, hard and seemingly microwaved too much. If they couldn't organise themselves for a group then they shouldn't have...

Whilst I have only been to this pub once I have seen enough to know I will definitely be returning. It has a bit of something for everyone, the bar has a TV in with presumably sport on most of the time and then as you venture a little further into the pub a dining area. Absolutely no signs of any tired decor and what is there looks as though it belongs not mix and match to replace things that have gone beyond their intended life. The food we had was reasonably priced and for what you pay the quality is definitely value for money, and is well presented which is a bonus. It may not be the case but there is a definite home cooked feel to the food which is a draw to return. I am already looking forward to a...
