The Ship Inn, Wokingham — Restaurant in England

Nice place, Nice fires and feels cosy. But its the second time I have had food there ( today 22 Januay 13 at 2pm ) and once again I was disappointed. I had Chilli beef with jalapeno's, Melted cheese, and Rice and to pay £9.95 for a dessert spoonful of Chill and not to forget lack of cheese ( in fact no cheese at all ) is a rip off. Sorry guys but that is not acceptable. I will be back but it certainly won't be the for the food. We hired the external cabin for an afternoon 40th birthday celebration and were pleasantly surprised at what this great venue offers! Despite not having any closed doors the venue is kept cosy and warm by several electric and gas heaters which really do help to create a nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful and promptly replaced the gas cylinder when it ran empty. We ordered pizzas from the menu which were all delicious and went down well with guests. This pub was disappointing in a number of ways. They got our groups booking time wrong by an hour. Service was exceptionally slow and disjointed. The food was terrible the chef clearly put more effort into appearance than taste. The desserts were inedible with 2/3 of the group leaving them. A number of group members elected to leave the main course and purchase crisps from the bar due to the low quality of the food. In summary, exceptionally poor I will avoid this pub...
