The Smokehouse — Restaurant in England

Been here a few times now and I've loved Everytime, including tonight, however, there were a few things that just weren't how they normally are but A LOT that was the usual delicious meaty goodness. The ribs were unreal, the burnt ends, belly pork bites and pulled pork were delicious but the brisket seemed dry? like it had been warmed on a grill/hot plate? It normally has a lovely red smoke ring too which was missing tonight, maybe it was just our portion? I'm not sure but like I say it isn't normally like this so could have just been a one off? The taco special was very nice too and although I don't like beef dripping chips my partner said they were delicious.(I ordered onion rings for this reason but please that isn't a negative, I just don't like dripping but my partner said they were the usual lovely crispy chips)The onion rings were amazing as normal but my biggest downfall was the pit beans. They're normally a lovely BBQ meaty feast but tonight they were different and tasted a lot like mustard? Great if you love mustard I guess but I could have cried into mine haha. I was devastated hahaha (I love those beans). The staff are amazing and it's such a lovely chill atmosphere. We will defo be back and I'm hoping the beans are back to their original BBQ...

Often disappointed when I visit. First of all this is not good smoked food. Anyone who is a fan of proper American low n slow smoked BBQ cooking will recognise that this is not a traditional smokehouse. All the meat (this time round it was ribs) is overly dried out. I asked when our ribs had been cooked and the waitress said "sometime this week". They just dont achieve that smoke ring and fall apart tender and juicy cook. Also the service is painfully slow. The staff are friendly and this place really could be great because the location and "tin shed" vibe could be so unique to the area, but the food just isn't anywhere near good enough. I've tried the brisket, burnt ends , sausage and ribs, all hoping to get some decent BBQ and nothing up to scratch. With better quality meat, a much better pitmaster, and some real thoughts and skill in the food they would be...

WOW, we have been looking forward to trying the smokehouse for quite some time, today we ordered the 5 meat 3 side platter for collection, the staff were very friendly and the order was ready for collection on time. unfortunately when we got home we realised that a rack of ribs was missing, we contacted the smokehouse and they promptly came and delivered them to us.. you can't ask for better than that!! The food was all amazing...pulled pork, brisket, belly pork, brisket ends and ribs were succulent, tasty and good size portions, the chips and onions rings were fabulous and OMG the brownies and blondies are out of this world. can't wait to order again, thank...
