Came in this morning for breakfast with my friend, I ordered the breakfast and paid for extra bacon. I asked for no beans, tomato or mushroom and was offered an extra egg and a hash brown instead. This along with a Biscoff milkshake and a bottle of water was £23.95. I don’t mind paying that much if it’s going to be good. The milkshake was watery and tasteless, I’ve got Biscoff protein powder that I mix with almond milk that’s tastier and creamier.

Then the breakfast came out, I was a bit underwhelmed to say the least, the eggs were mega over cooked, the bacon was dry past crispy and was just dry, 1 sausage that was tasteless and a bit of medium sliced hovis bread. I waited 25 minutes for someone to come over and check back to see how the food was and nobody came over. Eventually managed to grab the attention of the waitress who was so uninterested at what I had to say, took the food back to the kitchen and come back to say “go over to the till they’ll give you a refund” - that was it, no “sorry about that” no warmth or understanding. Just very abrupt and hostile.

I’m comparing this breakfast to one that I had here last year which I have a picture of, and it was absolutely stunning, flavourful farm sausages, everything cooked to perfection, 2 pieces of toast. I’ve added a picture of my breakfast today vs the one I had last time I came.

What an absolute shame. I used to come here at least 2/3 times a month but haven’t been for about a year. It’s like they now buy all the food from Iceland and the chef is barely Wetherspoon qualified. I would have forgiven the s* breakfast if I at least had a decent apology, and after driving 35 minutes to come here to leave hungry. It’s not acceptable.

In future if you would have checked back within 5 minutes of bringing the food over the issues could have been brought to your attention and I could have been made something fresh. It’s not even like it was too...

Went there for a full English breakfast with the missus and the service was awkward the person at the till took the order but failed to understand that we wanted a pot of tea for two and we had to repeat it three times for him to understand. We sat down and the service was relatively quick we received the food in about 5 minutes however the bacon and sausages were barely warm, the mushrooms were cold and the only thing that was heated were the beans that looked like they had been left out and then reheated in the microwave they were boiling hot which was good. The eggs were cooked nicely and still runny when we got them which is a plus however we had to remind our server for our pot of tea which they brought out a pot of tea for one and then once reminded it was for two we got another one. All the meat seemed to be from the co-op next door and was fatty so it was more fat than meat. All together it is stupidly expensive for everything in there and you may as well buy a meal deal for better quality and tasting food for much much cheaper. Other than all that it...

My wife took me to the Summer Cafe again today, and having been there a good few times before I was rather looking forward to a coffee and a cake. We arrived just a little after 4pm in plenty of time to eat and drink before they closed. The lady at the counter told us that they were closing in 25 minutes, not a problem we said fine not a problem. Then another lady told us (within a minute) we close in 20 minutes then wandered off. Another member of staff then wandered up to the counter and licking her fingers asked us if we wanted our (now paid for) coffee in takeaway cups. Hmm licking her fingers! Glad they use tongs to pick up the cakes!! Needs a hygiene lesson obviously. As we wandered around to our table to wait for our coffee another member of staff said We close in 15 minutes. Not particularly welcoming as previously experienced in the past. Might go to a non-independent cafe in the future as had to wait more than 10 minutes for our cakes (which I had to chase) to arrive to accompany my tepid coffee. ...

This is a fantastic cafe with lots to offer from breakfast right to waffles. We went there for breakfast and it was amazing great chilled out vibe, portion size was great and staff really friendly. I really liked the little touches with the latte art. The coffee was delicious and tea was also as good with lots of flavours on offer too. Will be back again for the waffles.

I decided to check out this cafĂ©, and wow, it was amazing! The service was excellent—the staff was very polite. I tried the vegan bowl, and it was surprisingly filling. The coffee tasted great too. This place is a haven for moms with their little ones—some were quiet, while others were a bit noisy and fussy. But I loved the atmosphere because I adore babies n small kids!
