The Sun Inn — Restaurant in England

The first time eating here, I ordered the cheese burger with bacon and came with chips and salad. Can't remember eating a worse burger, well I say eating had 2 bites and that was enough,it was so dry the pattie was on the small side and the cheese was presented in a way I have never seen before dropped over the burger with 1 slice of bacon in the middle of it, not sure what type of cheese it was, but dosent belong on a burger, there is a reason nobody else is doing cheese burgers like this, don't try and reinvent the wheel, the chips were over cooked and should have been binned, the fact someone in the kitchen thought they would send them out and they will be OK makes me worried for the calabour of kitchen staff working there, if you can't get a burger and chips right time to have a re think about career choices. My wife had a ceaser salad with chicken, which she said was OK, certainly looked better than mine 😐 Don't think we will be back. If you have allergies I do not recommend this place. Especially if you have a soya allergy as they fry everything in a oil that contains soya. It means that none of the kids meals would be available. I came here today with my family for a nice meal. My 18 month old has a host of allergies. I am still breastfeeding so also have to cut these out. I spoke to the waiter and he said he would speak to the chef. He came back basically saying the chef had said he was too busy and essentially could not be bothered to cater to our needs. I was not happy but did not want to ruin the meal for anyone else so they ordered. Myself and my 18 month old did not have anything. The food they had was okay. I have been to plenty of pubs with my daughter and they have always catered to us. I appreciate having customers with allergies is hard but this is not the right attitude to have. Avoid the Sun Inn at all costs!!! After visiting this local pub for many occasions unfortunately our last visit for my fathers 75th birthday celebrations was definitely our last! The food was inedible especially the fish & chips!! Not chips just awful potato wedges that were undercooked and disgusting. We also got charged for tap water?!? The kids meals were charged extra for the drinks where they should have been included in the deal and the waiter made a mistake in bringing an extra lager to the table, took it away but we were still charged for it! Service incredibly slow and poor, food incredibly disappointing and overall a horrid experience. The cleanliness of the Sun Inn left a lot to be desired also, will definitely not be returning ever, far nicer places to dine in Morpeth, The Sun Inn has definitely gone way back in terms of food, cleanliness and service, it does not even deserve 1 star!!!!
