The Sweet Escape — Restaurant in England

Ice cream was absolutely beautiful the best I have tasted anywhere and excellent coffee, so why only two stars. I went to this ice parlour for the first time with my sons, after walking around Darlington town centre this was the only ice cream parlour I could find. On arrival I was greeted by an english speaking blondish girl, I mention this because I want the owner to know which one I am on about, she was so rude. I asked her if I could show her what ice cream I wanted, which was in the other display freezer. She couldn't even be bothered to walk a few steps to see which ice cream I wanted, instead she slouched by the till and said "Just tell me which ones you want" I then asked her for an americano coffee, with attitude she told me I could only have what was on the board. At this stage I serious had to bit my lip and was about to walk out, but I promised my sons an ice cream. The other staff member who had a foreign accent, she was so polite and she served me my ice cream, very polite, smiley and friendly, she even brought me my coffee to my table very polite asking me if I needed anything else very polite. I then looked over at the counter and the english speaking blondish girl was on her mobile phone in front of customers, I thought if this was my place she would be gone, the other girl was doing all the work. Would I go back, to be fair yes I would because the ice cream was lovely and the girl with the foreign accent was very very polite and is a credit to The Sweet Escape. Well if ordered two ETON MESS with white chocolate & raspberry flavour icecream as my first choice and bubblegum icecream and my second choice and also more stuff for the little one. Iv just come out of hospital today after having day surgery so i was really looking forward it 🥰 with my not being able to eat anything else.. Iv had ETON MESS here before so my hopes where high. However, our ETON MESS wasn't anything like a ETON MESS. *There was a dust of MERINGUE that I couldnt hardly taste (to me a Eton mess is all about the MERINGUE) *The icecream what's like a cheesecake type not the one I believe to have chosen and my second choice bubblegum wasn't there either. It was just full of the cheesecake type icecream with a dust off MERINGUE a few strawberries at the bottom.

So I called to complain and let the staff know. The lady who answered apologised and said that my order must off not been understood properly. To be fair to her she offered me two scoops off bubblegum icecream on our next order FREE. I told her that I don't usually order for myself as I usually order for my customers at work so I declined the offer. But that was all that was offered from the lady after speaking to whom I believe was the Male boss in the back ground. The lady was lovely. And couldnt apologise enough hence the two star. The call ended. I think at the time I was thinking it's just bubblegum missing but in reality when I started eating it I would of rather had a replacement of what I actually ordered as it was nothing like our order. I placed an order at about 19:50 on their ‘website’. Put all the details through and the money were immediately taken out of my account. On the website it said that the food would be with me at 21:15. The times comes but the food is not here still. I ring the place and the woman asks me what address it’s for and says the food is with the driver so it won’t be long. 21:45 comes and the food is still not here. I ring the place to check, the woman asks for my address but this time she says they don’t have an order for it. Is this a joke? She says they have no clue about that website and it must be someone pretending to be them. So after almost two hours, I didn’t get any food, the money won’t be refunded and they basically don’t give a s* about...
