Eastern Bamboo Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Great Britain

Poor. Ordered a banquet for five of us. It took over an hour to arrive at the table, we received our soup before our Won Ton starter, to much confusion from the serving staff and, when we received our mains, they were provided lukewarm with cold rice on cold plates. The 'sizzling beef' was placed on a hot plate that was only warm, so didn't sizzle. When we pointed this all out to them, they were very apologetic and had the rice reheated (The waitress said she was sorry and that they'd been busy: if we wanted our food hot and on hot plates we should specify it next time (!?)). Drinks service was better, although we did have to ask for one of our drinks twice before it arrived.

I can't believe that in over 30 years of going to Chinese restaurants around the North East (and further afield) that we've never been here, it's so easy to get to on the bus, whereas most others have been a car ride away. We were greeted with a warm welcome, the restaurant itself is quite cosy, relaxing, comfortable and clean, the staff are a nice and friendly bunch, we were allowed all the time we needed between courses, we weren't rushed, and the food was so good that I don't feel that travelling so far to Newcastles China Town is really worth the effort anymore.
